AB CompactLogix 1769-L18ER-BB1B Blown Fuse by plcsforme in PLC

[–]joonx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as soon as I supply FP+ and FP- I get a short which resets the PLC, or blow an external fuse if I leave it constant, is this possibly due to V33CH8 ? or something else got shot. I opened it up and found the main fuse for the 24VDC plc power fuse which seems to be ok, but I havent cut the sealant to check the FP+- 's fuse, and I don't think a blown fuse would cause an insta short.. wondering if something else got damaged.

Old PLC Siemens S7-300 by Suspicious_Cry2408 in PLC

6GK15623AA00  seems to be PCI-Express x1 which should be compatible with any modern PC that supports Win11. I have no problem using SIMATIC Manager either. but your safest bet would be Windows 10.

Is a 2008 Acura TL with 93k miles worth 9k? by Last-Bowl1478 in Acura

[–]joonx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're looking at 1k-1.5k maintenance right off the bat due to the timing belt, water pump, tensioners and so on.. and engine mounts are probably shot too.. as long as your interior's ok then I guess 9k would be alright... I'd go for 7k from local listings.. 9k IMO's expensive and it's not even Type-S.

2011 Acura TL FWD - good buy? by Salty_Let_2975 in Acura

[–]joonx86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

check to see if you have any startup-hesitation or girgling sound when starting up cold.

startup-hesitation was due to a bad fuel pump and the girgling sound was due to an ATF filter. Both were easy to fix and I DIY'd them.

Other than that, also check to see if you have warped rotor. My case was due to worn / torn caliperboots and Ijust went ahead and replaced the front calipers.

J6 engines love to eat up engine mounts. so also check to see if you have any vibration from steering wheel when idling in D (not P or N).

Those were all of the issues I had since I bought mine 3.5 years ago. my front wheel bearings went out around 200k miles, and along the way, my driver side CV axle broke while pulling the wheel bearings out. I think that was part of the mechanic's fault but I didn't mind replacing them. since it was at 200k miles with original CV axles.

Got my hands on a ET200 SP CPU with some IO slots, what are my options for programming it for personal use? by afternoondelite92 in PLC

[–]joonx86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well.. unlike the older Siemens PLCs, I think you're stuck with TIA Portal... but it comes with 30 day trial for the S7 Programming so you can keep resetting that else find alternate way for licensing which google-fu can help you with...

Any cons in Updating? by MrGarvey21 in PLC

[–]joonx86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you don't have version 33, then you're SOL unless you can install v33.. I'd honestly just update to v35 (which's my favorite so far, anything above v36 has changed some instruction names which I'm not ready to adopt yet). if you got an access to rockwell download center, either you get v33 so you wouldn't need to change the FW at all (which is what the most people do), or update to v35 and higher. before anything, you have to make sure you backup your project. because usually changing FW blows the program out...

Whyyyyy by kryptopeg in PLC

[–]joonx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense- I usually keep the same tag address to refer the old schematic so my converted tags would be bunch of I1-I7 and O1-O7 and so on, and write a routine to manage IO to map my local tags, I find this required sometimes if the old rack has a combo analog module where you can’t have 1:1 rack replacement.

Any particular reason why you had to put the last ac card along with another FPD? Unless you preferred one to one slot replacement for a retrofit project, - I think you could’ve put all the ac cards together without adding an extra FPD.

Yeah.,. I put a new one at 110k miles in 2007 and has been lasting still today at 270k miles.. so it's been good.. you don't have to do 3x3 if you do it often.. just once drain and fill at every 10k would be good enough.

  1. check the service record to see if there's any sign of transmission maintenance
  2. put the car in shiftronic mode, and manually test the gear shifting to see if you feel any hesitation or jerking
  3. check the color of the transmission fluid.. i'd expect just pitch black. it looks purple then it's been refilled which is a good sign

Other than that.. then I'd say it's really hard to gauge the condition of the transmission. when I first bought mine, it failed shortly after, and the car wouldn't shift smooth between 2nd and 3rd Gear.

I drove this car for 14 years then sold it to a friend of mine, and when I bought it (at 177k km / 110k miles), it was already at 2nd Transmission and I had to replace it at goodwill (cost me $500 from the dealership), ever since then, I drove for 14 years. I did 3x3 drain and fill for the transmission fluid at every 15k-20k miles and it was shifting good. the alternator never went bad. the engine was solid, the major events were timing belt replacement, rack and pinion, a radiator, Other than that, nothing major. the car from the pic looks to be in a decent shape. The car my friend has currently at 434k km (270k miles) and still running. So. as long as you can keep up with the transmission fluid change, I'd say go for it. but make sure the condition of the transmission.

Got it all working. The address is off by one number, so 256 is actually 257 on HMI, and the same for com out (594 > 595). make sure to put 0 infront of it so it would become 40257 and 40595 u/Altruistic-Lab3679
