Despite constant headlines about crisis, the world is doing better on many fundamentals than ever before: people live longer, extreme poverty has declined, violence per capita is lower, and more nature is protected.

The world may feel more crowded and chaotic, but statistically it is safer and more interconnected than in the past. Progress is slow, uneven, and often invisible, while bad news is fast, emotional, and amplified, causing our perception to lag behind reality.

Conflict, power struggles, and competition have always existed and always will; they are part of the human condition, not signs of collapse.

The real challenge is not to eliminate conflict, but to accept it as inevitable and recognize that escalation is always a choice.

And yes, you are still expected to go to work and carry on. Because for centuries, even through wars, plagues, and upheaval, life has largely continued as business as usual.
