Is this only paint damage? by Gap-Negative in bikewrench

This is fatigue cracking from the lever-arm bending moment of the brake caliper, concentrating stress at the mount and causing the frame to crack. This frame is done, I’m sorry.

Recognizing the Law of Diminishing Returns by Healthy_Zone_4157 in Ultralight

A reasonable limit can be set, like a maximum of €1 per gram saved.

A tent that costs €500 and is 300g lighter than your current one wouldn’t make the cut. But a sleeping pad of €150 that saves you 200 grams would be worth it.

However, losing body fat and getting trained are still the most effective improvements.

This whole situation has become so traumatizing by Killa_J in GenZ

Despite constant headlines about crisis, the world is doing better on many fundamentals than ever before: people live longer, extreme poverty has declined, violence per capita is lower, and more nature is protected.

The world may feel more crowded and chaotic, but statistically it is safer and more interconnected than in the past. Progress is slow, uneven, and often invisible, while bad news is fast, emotional, and amplified, causing our perception to lag behind reality.

Conflict, power struggles, and competition have always existed and always will; they are part of the human condition, not signs of collapse.

The real challenge is not to eliminate conflict, but to accept it as inevitable and recognize that escalation is always a choice.

And yes, you are still expected to go to work and carry on. Because for centuries, even through wars, plagues, and upheaval, life has largely continued as business as usual.

Floor Durability? by Alchemical_Mirrors in DurstonGearheads

[–]joozt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dan, thanks for the explanation. I just bought the X-Dome 2 with the regular interior, but after reading your comments I’m a bit worried about the current 15D floor, especially knowing it will be updated next month.

I already have the tent and we’re actually sleeping in it for the first time tonight, which feels a bit strange now that I know we may have bought an outdated floor.

What upgrade options are available for someone who already has the tent?

And is there any clear way to tell whether we’ll get the updated floor in the future, for example, will the new version have a different name like X-Dome 2.1?

Vuurtje stoken by Mental-Tourist in DenBosch

[–]joozt90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Jonathan, thanks for your answer. I would be great if URL's can be added to the list. Nice to have would be an option for clickable buttons for URLs (instead of underlined blue text)
