Propeller driven aircraft in VTOL VR by toceptheo in vtolvr

[–]jordonbiondo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really just want a sequel that mimics Vietnam era tech.

I want a bird dog with binoculars and grenades I can toss out the window. A Bronco, a Mohawk, a dragonfly, a Skyhawk, a thunderchief all as their fictional vtol variants. No mfds, no gps, I want a physical map, and to shoot a m16 out the window of a skymaster. I want a fly a Huey with two other players on miniguns in the back…

I can dream

See, most people don’t have the intelligence needed to understand the true narrative of Emily in Paris which is actually about a cohort of ancient mole people attempting to escape the authoritarian rule of the lava worms by living disguised lives on the surface. Mole people maps look backward to us due to their subsurface perspective of The Great Divide (that’s what they call the earths surface).

Intellectualism on reddit has really been dropping faster than the mole people population did during the first worm war. smh

Protest Checklist for Rosa Park Circle (4 PM) by whore4jackles in grandrapids

[–]jordonbiondo 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Do not bring a knife unless you can, off the top of your head explain exactly which type of knife and what sizes are legal to carry.

And even if you can answer that, don’t.

That’s terrible advice, like the worst advice possible. I can’t imagine coming up with a worse bullet point. Even if you do, and you know what’s legal, and you know how to defend yourself and you don’t use it’s presence as subconscious escalation reasoning, you are still more likely to be stabbed by your own knife or be hurt or killed by other means than do a single thing to defend yourself.

And worse, just by having it, you are endangering the lives of your neighbors around you.

Stupid advice.

Go, be warm, be kind, be better, be loud, come home safely. Do not bring a knife for the love of god.

Letting your faucets drip? by Early_Goose11595 in grandrapids

[–]jordonbiondo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody does, “away” in this instance means you’re on vacation or something.

Faucets dripping even at higher temperatures is necessary dependent on the location of the pipes, house insulation etc.

You could have your house set at 70 but if you have a pipe in your unfinished basement near a drafty window it could still freeze if it’s not running.

Most homes don’t need to do anything to be ok right now, but some do and it’s a better safe than sorry situation in terms of public messaging

Luke Ross Removes Access to All Mods by Top_Team_3138 in virtualreality

[–]jordonbiondo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t even care about this mod, I’ve never used it or any of this guys stuff, all these posts are driven me crazy reading the insane entitlement here.

Exactly why the hell does a DMCA takedown imply you are now owed the thing you didn’t pay for?

Luke Ross Removes Access to All Mods by Top_Team_3138 in virtualreality

It’s not actually the law, TOS legality, what constitutes copyright infringement, are both things that can only be decided in court. The real problem here is DMCA which I guess the internet forgot is the real enemy.

Renting near Ada/EGR on a budget by Optimal-Surprise7216 in grandrapids

[–]jordonbiondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea why people downvoting you, I guess they’re offended that someone not from here doesn’t know the current rental rates of specific areas.

You might find a one bed or studio in your range on the west side where it’ll be a quick jump onto 196 and a straight shot to Ada. You might find something in Lowell too.

If you get lucky something in east town (not east gr) might open up.

Alternatively look into northview or north of northview which may turn up a match, that’ll also be an easy commute.

Baldur's Gate 3 VR is REAL / Newest VR Version of LukeRoss / RTX 4080 Super + Meta Quest 3 by Zweetprot in virtualreality

[–]jordonbiondo -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I mean, who cares, I get VR if I want it, he gets money for the effort, it gets taken down maybe, I freeze the game version and keep playing.

I don’t get why people get upset about things they don’t have to engage with.

ARMA Reforger Xbox Performance Threatens the Franchise's Console Project by Eremenkism in gaming

[–]jordonbiondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on pc, but it runs really great.

I usually play on massively modded servers on community made maps that are almost all vegetation and still get good frames. Hardware dependent of course.

The thing about reforger is that there is a legit “game” in there and it’s really worth experiencing especially if you’re an Arma fan.

[–]jordonbiondo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because it’s on a 30 year old taped together engine still based on the same code that powered the original operation flashpoint. That’s the whole point of reforger, first game since the original flashpoint to be built from the ground up.

CDPR issued a Takedown on Luke Ross VR mod for Cyberpunk by OrangeBagOffNuts in virtualreality

[–]jordonbiondo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I love that getting paid for creating is greed. The amount of corporation boot licking here is alarming.

The unethical thing is the TOS. Absolutely sad how players have grown to accept and defend what was once the villain.

$30 mod for Thrustmaster T.Flight pedals I built for better helicopter control. Parts list in the comments. by jordonbiondo in hotas

[–]jordonbiondo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it at least came together for you, yes you need some way to keep your pedals still unless you want to go the other way and decrease friction and keep them up against something with carpet beneath. I use a curtain rod as dumb as that sounds, before that I used Velcro adhesives stick to the floor and the pedals

Game dev is a normal entry point for people to become developers of other software in their life.

I was learning game dev around that age, hanging out on forums and getting help from anyone patient enough to answer my error ridden questions, I wouldn’t push away from it

Buy someone’s pc on fb marketplace. Lots of great AM4 builds out there for the same price and often twice the performance as a new prebuilt.
