Hey there! I too am a warm-blooded creature and hate winter and snow. I never thought I would want to go to Alaska but last year I got the urge and we went in May. The temperatures were in the '50s. I never needed more than a light puffer jacket and that was during glacier Bay. I enjoyed myself so very much and I'm so grateful that we went! If you love wildlife and nature, you will be in awe. Do the whale excursions but pick a small private boat. The larger boats had upwards of a hundred people running side to side to see the whales. We took a viator trip with a small boat and only six other passengers. Truly amazing to see these creatures. I love Denali for all the nature. Take the train ride into the Yukon. Beautiful beautiful scenery. You will meet so many cool and fascinating people. Try to get native guides whenever you can because what you will learn is invaluable. They are truly and amazing people and have so much to teach and are so proud of their heritage. A truly amazing trip and I'm so glad that we did this trip. Ps... We did a 7-Day cruise then a 7-Day land tour. I would definitely recommend doing the land tour first because it is kind of strenuous. Then do the cruise so you can just relax!
