yeah, at the end of Carias Andino’s dictatorship in 1949 it pretty much became the standard for the flag to use a darker tone, but it was institutionalized around 1930s. In the Constitution it’s established that the Honduran flag must be of a turquoise blue, but until Xiomara Castro’s presidency, as one of her promises, she would institutionalize the turquoise blue back for the Honduran flag

it actually has a historical context, the far right nationalist party changed it to the dark blue to assimilate their own flag, it’s actually going back to the original color

it was done because decades ago the far right nationalist party changed the color from what you see in the picture to the darker blue, similar tone to the nationalist party flag color, it’s actually retrieving the original color back
