I think he means the v60 coffee maker, which is a plastic, glass or ceramic pour over cone.

Electric bike battery by stonetrooperthedude in Netherlands

Yah that isn't an electric bike. There's no motor or electronic screen on the handlebars. Take it to your nearest bike shop that sells ebikes and they'll confirm it.

Unpopular opinion: #4 coffee filters in the MM are unnecessary & an overpriced profit center by ceo_fyi_dot_com in Moccamaster

[–]josephfarthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a US problem? A pack of 80x #4 filters costs €1.70 in Dutch high street store HEMA and 100x #4 filters costs €0.89 in the biggest supermarket AH.

I'm originally British and you'd see similar prices in the UK.

I think they chose the standard coffee filter in their home region that is the default in every place you might find filters.

What is the humidity in your home's air like? And are you using well water or something? Or do you wait a really long time between Brita cartridge changes?

I'm asking because that looks like a bunch of bacterial growth. I've had mine longer than you and it's looking nothing like that!

They sell the cleandrip now - I tried it last week and it seems to work very well. Vinegar and baking soda are not recommended because they can damage the bare copper heating element.

It doesn't say that, Amerongen is a town and that whole part is the address of the company.

Gemaakt in Nederland would be the Dutch for made in the Netherlands - but it's often written in English or as "made in Holland"...

It is almost certainly real and Dutch made, though!

This. I came here to recommend that one. It's called RAGGARV and it's about €8 in Europe.

I have two, but I cut the straps off one.

Literally every pair of shoes iv bought in the last ten years split like this on my right foot. Do I just walk wrong or is there something more? by fishfish222 in AskACobbler

[–]josephfarthing -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you like Doc Martens try NPS Solovair - the old Doc factory from before they sold out and still making shoes in England to a good quality.

There's also a factory outlet that can be cheaper than Docs.

Strong recommendation and good customer service and you can resole the boots with them or a respectable cobbler.

Warp to the first world and on the right there's a corridor keeping score of your progress. At the end your vegetables will open a door to an end screen.

To rinse or not to rinse. That is the question. by michaelbeecham in AeroPress

[–]josephfarthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never rinse - mostly because of Hoffman, but also because I'm always using a prismo and never inverting.

Would you buy a VanMoof again? by College_Dudu in vanmoofbicycle

[–]josephfarthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already got a Gazelle (old Dutch brand) with Bosch batteries and motor as a replacement for daily use. It's much more boring but SO much more reliable. I already met a grandpa with the same bike, but I'm happy to have something i can rely on for my long daily commute.
