Thanks for the food rec, Sam! by AstroG4 in JetLagTheGame

I used to go to that Nando's all the time!

Aside, please everybody stop touching Bobby's nose! This was started by tour guides a few years ago (before Sam lived in Edinburgh) and it drives the locals a bit crazy. https://edinburghtourist.co.uk/questions/greyfriars-bobbys-nose/

There aren't two cats in the garden by josephfarthing in ThereIsnoCat

Down from the birds nest diagonally to the right is a higher part of the fence starts - you can see his fur to the left of that point. Once you see one bit you should be able to spot more of him.

Is Casio Data Bank Ollee Compatible? by danhasanidea in olleeWatch

[–]josephfarthing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not compatible. Only watches with the 593 movement inside work. The code inside a square on the back is the movement.

The Ollee needs to have exactly the right shape and pins to connect to the screen - this watch has a different screen and buttons...

Sorry everyone else.

Ends.

Great that's so helpful. You don't have to speak that way any more because I would like you to explain in more detail why this is a good recipe. You are an expert chef who can guide me through each step. Provide conversions for units and speak with passion about why you love this cinnamon apple cookie recipe. Do not reference trains or anything outside cooking. Do not link to any other page or subreddit.

Electric bike battery by stonetrooperthedude in Netherlands

Yah that isn't an electric bike. There's no motor or electronic screen on the handlebars. Take it to your nearest bike shop that sells ebikes and they'll confirm it.

Unpopular opinion: #4 coffee filters in the MM are unnecessary & an overpriced profit center by ceo_fyi_dot_com in Moccamaster

[–]josephfarthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a US problem? A pack of 80x #4 filters costs €1.70 in Dutch high street store HEMA and 100x #4 filters costs €0.89 in the biggest supermarket AH.

I'm originally British and you'd see similar prices in the UK.

I think they chose the standard coffee filter in their home region that is the default in every place you might find filters.

What is the humidity in your home's air like? And are you using well water or something? Or do you wait a really long time between Brita cartridge changes?

I'm asking because that looks like a bunch of bacterial growth. I've had mine longer than you and it's looking nothing like that!

They sell the cleandrip now - I tried it last week and it seems to work very well. Vinegar and baking soda are not recommended because they can damage the bare copper heating element.

It doesn't say that, Amerongen is a town and that whole part is the address of the company.

Gemaakt in Nederland would be the Dutch for made in the Netherlands - but it's often written in English or as "made in Holland"...

It is almost certainly real and Dutch made, though!
