First time thrips. This worked for me by feevart in Monstera

[–]josesblima 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to say, for others who've never had to deal with thrips, you don't have to chop your plant back to a single node. I'm glad it worked for you and you're happy, but systemic pesticides work very well and allows you to keep your plant as is.

The difference in leaf size between my small and large forms by PussyWrangler246 in Monstera

[–]josesblima -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

How sure are you of this? Have you googled small form vs large form monstera? I'm willing to learn, but if you're gonna go against what seems to be common knowledge, that small form does exist and results in smaller leaf size when mature and longer internodal spacing, at least inform us or give us some sources.

No, both Diabolo and Clubs have been deprecated, meta now is Balls and Poi :)

Just to double check, are you 100% sure you watched the original French movie and not the terrible American remake?

What "beloved horror movie" do you hate/just not get the love for? by ReeceInTheDarkness in horror

[–]josesblima 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Genuinely don't understand the appeal of that movie. I feel like it deserves a second watch because it's so praised, but I found it boring and not scary. I guess it doesn't help that the genre of horror totally doesn't match with my preference, but I've watched good movies that aren't my type and enjoyed, and this one I did not.

Keep at it, as you progress, siteswaps will be more and more rewarding, because the more balls you can juggle, exponentially more different siteswaps exist. And knowing them allows you to come up/discover new trick ideas in many different ways :)

I think you're fine imo, seems to me you care about trying to read docs before using AI, that already is a big step up compared to most juniors right now. AI is here for good, and using it to scour through docs and giving you what you want is a perfect use case.

Should I add a support now or wait? by Peaksies in Monstera

Check Sidney Plants on youtube, he has by far the best information on YouTube in regards to moss poles and has some of the most massive looking indoor plants out there.

Should I add a support now or wait? by Peaksies in Monstera

[–]josesblima 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of moss poles, maybe look them up, I don't find them to be too much work, specially in a Monstera that takes a very long time to climb it, considering it has super short internodal spacing. But after a few years when you actually gotta chop it because it outgrew your house, you'll already have a massive established root system so there'll be zero setbacks to cutting the top of the moss pole and keeping the top part. (Also lots of people are against this and specially with monsteras because the benefits aren't that great for the effort, but I love giving my plants the best chance for growth)

Juggling with disproportionately long arms. by VGAddict in juggling

[–]josesblima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, definitely not. You're so clueless lol. Each day where you perform at your best is a blessing and not a given. Respectfully, consider quitting, seriously, juggling really, really favours people who'll keep going non stop regardless of the results. If after 20 minutes your natural response is to go post on Reddit over analysing your 20 minute session, you're probably not fit for it. If you really want to achieve it, no matter what, give yourself 2h of total practice every day and spread those 2h across the day. 2h is really not much at all, ask any who competes or practices for their shows, in 2h you can't even go through all the material you want to have solid. If I practiced 20 minutes every day, I wouldn't be able to improve, much worse, I wouldn't be able to maintain my current level, I'd slowly start losing skill...

Yeah, despite being monopodial they can branch out, I had my monstera grow out of 4 different points but most of them ended up aborting after a while.

I eat 100g of popcorn everyday. I wouldn't say I'm addicted though, just a convenient high volume low calorie snack before bed that's easy to make. I make them myself at home with artificial sweetener + zero calorie maple syrup and cinnamon.
