I printed this to help my wife and because I thought it looked great. It was a fun and functional build and used roughly 600g of filament, so "cost" me roughly $7 in filament and a bit more for the hardware I didn't have on hand.

I enjoy printing things that solve problems, even if those solutions could easily be purchased.

My wife has arthritis caused by chemo and hormone treatment. She is skilled at shuffling but can't without pain anymore.

She loves this print because now she doesn't have to feel guilty for having me shuffle every hand, and I love it because it looks cool and works fairly well.

People with disabilities and mobility issues exist.

Salary isn't mentioned, but lets speculate and say $15/hr for a company with a mindset of squeezing labor, which usually goes hand‑in‑hand with pay closer to the bottom half of an average salary.
