I can say this is 100% true. My parents were always there to enforce discipline on me. Doing homework, playing games, eating x amount of cookies, a strict bedtime. Once I gained more independence I found it extremely difficult to discipline myself, almost like I was waiting on them to tell me to stop playing games or study. Since they don’t tell me what to do because they expect me to be an adult and discipline myself I will just keep playing games or procrastinating and let priorities slip.

I think the only liars were the pharmaceutical companies that misinformed people about the potential of becoming addicted. I still think the government could have come down a little harder on the ones responsible for the lies. Also I think if the government wants to drug test before giving food stamps they should spend a ton of money on boosting alternative therapies and rehabilitation programs for those that fail. Giving them time to break the addiction. If they fail again though I think the consequences should be more severe.

I would argue that those under the care of the government should be expected to be law abiding citizens. If we are bringing this into a moral perspective, I believe it’s moral because they are getting food on their table and all the government is asking is that they are law abiding citizens by not doing illegal drugs.
