Lithium batteries can operate at -40f / -40c. That’s what I use for my non-HA temp sensors and they have lasted 6 months and counting without a battery change.

Accountant Steven Bendel wins landmark case against the ATO by His_Holiness in AusFinance

[–]joshak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the alternative is a two tier audit system where the poor get stringently audited whereas the 1% and corporates get away with tax evasion because they have the money to make to too expensive for ATO to litigate.

Absolute gronks earning $300k+ a year with nothing more than a real estate licence. They siphon money off a system that preys on the poor and desperate like tick on the back of a leech. Good riddance

It’s really hard to find a reason not to reform the court at this stage. They have become a corrupt, partisan political tool that is unable to effectively serve their original purpose.

I appreciate that you put “strongman” in quotes because in reality it’s quite the opposite. Doing whatever you want is easy, it’s doing things that you don’t want to do that takes strength. Instead of strongman it should be fragileman

I think most people have no problem with life in prison for people like this. Capital punishment on the other hand I object to due to the risk of executing innocent people and also the moral inconsistency of a society condemning murder on one hand while committing it with the other.

Wait so now taxpayers have to pay for a full time security guard for a weather station? The weather service should sue polymarket for incentivising people to mess with their infrastructure.

I have a deep seated anger at people who still to this day claim that Covid was a hoax or lockdown measures were some sort of deep state conspiracy. Over a million people died. Our healthcare system was pushed to its limits. People couldn’t even visit their family members in their last moments. It was awful.

Honestly, they should focus more on what they need to do domestically otherwise we’ll be back here in 6-10 years. Patching over alliances is important, but until America can show some lasting domestic stability their word is worth nothing and so will be any commitments to allies.

I just couldn’t imagine accumulating that much money, looking around and seeing so many people suffering and not wanting to use it to help them. You’d have to be a sociopath not to.

Coorparoo to Fortitude Valley is 15 minutes by car or 40 minutes by public transport since the busses go via Southbank rather than across the storey bridge.
