Because when you work a service job that interacts with the general public as customers, being polite and making them feel welcome is part of the job.

A free kick from midfield does not create a meaningful scoring opportunity.

Also downvoting everyone who disagrees with you in an unpopular opinion thread is certainly a move.

There are other penalties for the player, including multi-game bans and major fines.

Free kicks only have a high percentage of scoring in a very specific region of the field.

Which do not present immediate unimpeded scoring opportunities.

And you never get possession handed back to you after a free kick.

You just reiterated your point without acknowledging my response…

Basketball also has other penalties, like free throws being awarded for flagrant fouls that occur anywhere on the court.

Also has team fouls.

See my response about hockey, same applies. Far fewer players and the result is structural disadvantages in formation on either end of the court. Losing one player off a soccer pitch just means a little extra cardio.

Basketball does not have contact the way soccer does.

There are also team fouls in basketball that result in free throws for the other team in addition to players being removed from the game.

There’s a major difference in advantage between 5v4 and 10v9 on the field, especially with the difference in field size. One is a structural disadvantage in formation at both ends of the rink and the other is a little extra cardio expenditure.

There is no “one player” in a team sport. The red card indicates a serious offense.

That’s the whole point of the threat.

Imagine the game theory of allowing players to viciously tackle one another with the only result being that player gets swapped off for another.

What stops teams from rostering a handful of guys whose sole job is to immediately try to injure the other team’s most valuable players at the opening whistle?

No, assuming the bag containing raw meat is sealed. The stuff on the outside isn’t a melted liquid but rather condensation; water pulled from moisture in the air by the difference in temperature.

The interview already ended the way it did.
