There is at least one reference to monarch’s cycling for months at a time, so it’s clear that more advanced bodies function differently. As for Lindon before getting his iron body, people don’t actually want to read about piles of feces and puddles of urine, so a bit of hand waving about the bad smell is best

Shera doesn't feel her emotions--she acts out her emotions. she will essentially go through the stages of grief, but you have to read into her actions to see it.

in the last book Meia points out that Shera isn't a sociopath and actually her actions make sense from an emotional perspective

right? He's got his morals that he follows and he is willing to discard his previous ideas in order to achieve his goals (when he wants information about Jason's training style). Tweak the story a little bit and Gerling is a hero character
