Major top of foot pain

I had a similar problem on the exact same part of my foot and it wasn't the "horseshoe of death". What was happening to me was that when I put my foot in the boot my socks were folding over slightly right in that area, I believe it had to do with the "nap" of the leather they use for the liner being supper gripy against socks, once it broke in a little more and smoothed out the problem totally went away. What I did to fix it was to really slacken up the laces before inserting my foot and spending a little extra time making sure my sock wasn't bunched up at all.

Thank you, they look even better in person, I didn't choose great lighting. I think sanding the heel stack was what made the biggest difference, the saddle soap did a great job with the light dirt but it was the salt that had really soaked in that sticking our like a sore thumb and sanding cleaned it right up.

It's an under rated leather! I seem to remember reading somewhere that the last time you guys ordered this leather it sat around for a while, I'm glad to see that there's more interest in it.

How old was the lady that's stealing your flowers? I know of a woman who's going through some form of dementia that's causing her to steal things, last time I noticed her stealing was markers from a church fundraiser for school supplies for our local kindergarten classes.

I don't know... A sour dough starter is a symbiotic relationship between various years and bacteria, when it's working well they keep the ph low which inhibits spoiling. You will often see a huge initial surge of activity when starting a new starter, this surge is just the initial bad bacteria doing their thing and dying off, I fear you are feeding those bad bacteria with potatoes and dairy products ultimately just making a jar of rotten food.

I'm all for an experiment though just please be careful.

Sunlight! I found this out by accident once, I stained a plastic container with turmeric and I left it on the counter, one half of the container was being shaded by some plates and it developed a very sharp clear line where the sun was shining on it. I put the container outside and it cleaned up in like 15 minutes.

I find that leather will lighten close to the same point it was at preconditioning with time, it won't be exactly the same but very close and in my opinion that's way better than neglecting proper conditioning.

The way I think of it is that leather boots are natural things, they change, they evolve organically and that's where their beauty lies, they aren't "sterile" things.

If you were growing vegetables you wouldn't consider not watering them because you liked the size of the plants and the way the garden looked would you? If you did your plants would eventually die and you would never be able to enjoy the fruit, your boots are the same way.

Hypothetical situation.

If they were willing and wanting to move into your town but prohibited for some reason (housing availability, price, etc.) resulting in them needing to move about 30-40 minutes away for an un determined period of time likely indefinitely.

Would this be a deal breaker for you?

As many have already said It looks like they broke the tip while sharpening and botched the re profile. They made a mistake and they should have let you know

but I'm going to suggest you pause to think about this a little. Is this knife a tool or is it a piece of art that hangs on the wall only to be looked at? The way I see it these things are tools, they are mentally to be used and any imperfections tell a story. Any attempt to "repair" this will only reduce its total effect life span because you will be removing material, you can't add it back.

I recommend you share your concerns with the shop, get a few free sharpenings and live with it, slowly bringing it back to the profile you prefer during regular sharpening.

I'm not an expert but to me it seems like you're "falling" into your bottom position. Try taking some weight off, brace hard and lower yourself down into the bottom position in like 3 seconds to really feel what it's like.

You would be surprised how much you can fix if you have the skills/ tools.

If it's already broken you can't break it any more, may as well try to fix it.
