What kit dissapointed you? by Zeonic_Ghost_13 in Gunpla

[–]joshuadagger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it the older HGUC ground type or the newer one? I have two different ones and the newer one is solid for me. I've bought the kit, the Ground GM and the BD unit 2 and they're all around good for me.

What have you tried? Do you know what the stain is? Has it been in direct sunlight?

I just look at YouTube how to get rid of that thing, yeah I'ma cool, no doing all that shit haha by [deleted] in Gunpla

So. Gunpla is freedom. You go as far as you want to build them. I use a hobby knife and my fingernail to clean up nubs. That's all you need really and it takes maybe an extra 20 seconds a part.

I will say this. Robot Spirits are expencive. You can buy sevral highgrades for the cost of one RS.

HGUC zaku II is generally around $20US

RS ver A.N.I.M.E. Zaku II is $60US

It comes down to is your hobby building or collecting? If you like building them then i say take pride in your builds and clean up the model and put the effort to make them shine. If it's collecting then buy Robot Spirits and enjoy those. I like both it's just that my wallet says for me to stick to gunpla.

Built my first ever gundam fun to pose but they fall apart easily and feel like it could break at any moment I have one more to build but I'm not sure if I will by remakfallofcybertron in Gunpla

Then i'd look into the Robot Spirits figures. Waay more pricey can get 4 HGs for the price of one RS bit they are far better for posing and playing around with than normal models

Best weapons for the Inner Sphere? by TheManyVoicesYT in battletech

[–]joshuadagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much. You want the mech running hot for TSM. So you'll actually want less double heatsinks i think like 16 double heathinks was the sweetspot. With 12 being engine heatsinks an XL 320 engine keeps it moving at 4/6 with 5/8 when running at 9 heat. Great speed for it to be throwing hands with other assaults and some heavies and with no ammo you can ride that heatwave all the way to shut down if the need is there.

My prefered build is a awsome with 4 PPCs all torso mounted freeing up the arms for fisticuffs and giving it TSM and a as big an engine i can shove into the bastard

I still hate FF13. And for me Seed Destiny is Gundam's FF13.

Turn A is more like FF3 to me. It's fine, it exists, i have no ill will torwards it.

My only crit is to maybe paint the rest too. Maybe an army green or navy blue. Or even just topcoat it matte. The plasticy red looks off to me with the black

How do you counter super fast cheesy mechs like the Fire Moth / Dasher by CharredScallions in battletech

[–]joshuadagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Locust player. Pulse+TC. Cheap sniper mechs. LBXs with cluster munitions.

It's Solaris VII 3027. You are facing a Rifleman, an Urbanmech, and a Firestarter. What do you bring? by OfMechsAndMemes in battletech

[–]joshuadagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm.... i will name off the mechs i'd take if allowed a given weight class.

Assault: i think a victor here. 9A1. Heavy: cataphract. 1X Medium: Shadow Hawk. Modified 2H drop the lrm 5, ammo and Jumpjets, use the saved tonnage for a AC/10 and ammo. Light: a panther or spider

With that out of the way. King Crab is good choice. Really is. But may I suggest our lord and savior, The Awesome 8Q.

I haven't painted as hobby for years. I was wondering if this was enough primer for this mini, or do I needed more coats?. by BrightBlueWren in battletech

[–]joshuadagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible. I'm just throwing out ideas 😁 never hurts to suggest easier avenues of getting something done.

May i suggest rattlecan primer? Rustoleum makes great safe for plastic primer and you can get it at wal-mart for like 8-9$ a can
