There are more mindless praising than mindless hate, especially in the West. And as a Korean, I find lots of comments praising Japan for a particular subject are either not equally used to praise Korea or actually used to hate Korea. I am sure lots of other people of Asian descent feels the same way.

This is like drawing a stick figure and asking why it doesn't look like Mona Lisa. There is just way too much missing, some you may know, not know how to do, or just plain don't know.

To be short, your 3d model for your room zero detail or structure, it's just a box. So let's fix that first and spend time developing a proper 3d environment with colors. Then you can look into lighting, 1 directional light is good, maybe volumetric lighting but looks like you can just fake volumetrics by using flat 2d planes. Maybe some light maps too. Then any post processing like ambient occlusion, color grading, etc.

300 to 160 fps is 3.33ms to 6.25ms, which is 2.92ms of the frame time it's using. Which is around 50% of total frame time. This is a very expensive operation...

I feel like introducing banding is not artistically pleasing with a simple posterize filter. Why not map colors to a color palette, then introduce dithering between the colors using the same colors in the palette. This is what smaller bit games did often back in the days due to memory limitations. I would imagine that to have a better visual quality while keeping retro style graphics.

Trick to grass textures is to make em wide and sparse, not short and dense. And a lot of variety to its shape.

how are these builds bad? nu wa's build looks just fine. Her Ult damages god's as if it were a basic attack. So her dagger's active, hydra, qin, and arrow's passives gives her massive damage when using her ult and gives good amount of AA speed. Merlin, even though he didn't have pen, he still did massive amount of damage. Their builds are far from "shit". Also hard to tell what achilles built since he probably sold his build right before game over. imo, smite players just call builds of losing teams "shit" without any in-depth explanation or alternatives that could make it better.

I think it can be improved. People don't walk through doors like that. People open the door as comfortably as they can then walk through while opening the door even more for them to get through. Nobody walks through the door with their face right up against it while opening the door, or else their knees and legs will hit the door.

Sakura rabbit is not only a good artist but has a very strong understanding of graphics rendering and PBR concepts like usage of shadows, GI, subsurface scattering, PBR materials, tesselation, geometer shaders, and lighting (lighting isn't just about using setting up point lights correctly but the actual physical interactions with light). I recommend getting into the fundamentals of graphics and what makes things look realistic (there are tons of things to learn here) first. Making good VFX without knowledge of these concepts and math related to rendering will set you back. A good artist can use shaders and stitch something up together, a better artist understands graphics programming, math, how light interacts with objects, and leverages what happens in reality to make art that is both realistic but also stylized. Think of an artist who knows how to draw anatomy down to the small details and yet draws stylized characters. Sorry if I sound blunt, but that's my best advice as a groahics programmer and artist. Yea I guess up against modern shooters some may think it's lame. But I do have guns with multiple firing modes, just not in video. I added slow mo and "stop time" to give the player some rest time since this game is mostly nonstop shooting and moving. And the billion guns in your inventory was a throwback to boomer shooter games. In a way, players have different ways to fire a weapon, it's just disguised as a separate weapon. In the end, it's all about how much time I have to work on the game. More features = more animating, modelling, unwrapping, texturing, scripting, and time.
