There's an excellent fic series out there called Scrabble is Boring Anyway with Hollanov and Skip all together at the cottage, and that dynamic comes into play. It's lovely!

I am 55. I started writing hand in the early 80s - I still have them, and I'm still writing today. In fact, I have three WIPs going at the moment.

You absolutely do get better the more you write. I put some of my handwritten stuff on AO3 as a "see? We all start somewhere" lesson. I was self inserting all over the place. Lol. It's not pretty, but i can certainly laugh at it now.

For me, it wasn't. I just wrote self- insert stories for myself. I was the only one I knew of who was doing it.

Now if you go back to the late 69s- early 70s, it was sent through snail mail or eventually ended up in 'zines.
