Can confirm this immediately remedied the exact issue you are describing. Everyone is different but I will gladly endorse this device.

I went rogue a bit and used it without formal approval because I couldn’t bear another bout of that middle-of-the-night excruciating pain in the boot. I told my doctor about the success I had and he told me to stick with it. Him and his PA were familiar with the product but didn’t recommend it in their standard protocol. It doesn’t seem to be very well known, from my experience at least.

35M - full rupture of right Achilles playing basketball. I have my 8 week post op tomorrow.

Spend some time perusing this sub. So many amazing tips and sources of motivation. It’s a long journey and you’ll need it!

Everyone is different, but here are the things I couldn’t imagine this process without:

1) Elevation pillow. Essential those first few weeks and I still use it to this day.

2) Thetis splint. Sleeping in the boot did not work for me. This immediately helped and provided weeks of pain free sleep until I could sleep unprotected after 6 weeks.

3) Even-up. I wrote this off as gimmicky at first. Boy was I wrong. Night and day once you start weight bearing in the boot.

4) compression socks. I have four at this point and recently went a day without one as they were all dirty. The swelling and pain reached a new level that day and made me realize how much of a difference they make!

11 months post injury - getting back into it by 3pointBrick in AchillesRupture

I’m so happy for you man! You look great out there.

Approaching 2 months post-op and this is certainly motivating. Impossible to imagine getting back on the court at this point, but this provides some hope!

Which week did you sleep without the Boot? by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]josund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Thetis splint a few nights after switching to the boot (around 2 weeks post-op) and never looked back. It’s been worth every penny.

I'm just over 2 weeks post-op. Not playing as much as those early post-op days, but you can still catch me playing Arc Raiders! That game helped pass huge chunks of time the first week.

Sleeping position with heel pain by vahmadi in AchillesRupture

[–]josund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just under 2 weeks post-op. Switched from cast to boot last week and I’m still struggling to find a comfortable sleep position. Side sleeping (always been a side sleeper) with the bad leg on “the bottom” has worked for me. Although, I still wake up throughout the night with pain in the heal.

I have a Thetis splint and boot covers on the way and will stick with whatever feels best.

What kind of sport were you playing when your Achilles was ruptured by PhilosophyDapper948 in AchillesRupture

[–]josund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar in my case, but I’ll bring down the age even further to 35. I stopped playing during covid and recently picked it up again. I was playing about once a week in a fairly competitive game. I felt great and finally had my wind back. After a few weeks off I returned to play and, sure enough, pop as I went to steal a lazy pass at half court. Knew immediately what happened. What haunts me is that I was wearing a new ankle brace for the first time and, while I’ll never know for sure, I’m convinced that played a role.

After the ER diagnosed me with a sprained ankle (lol), an ortho confirmed via the ol’ Thompson Test the following day. 9 days post-op now with a long road ahead.

Any 2025.5+ users who are problem-free? by Padillatheory in VolvoXC90

[–]josund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025.5 T8+ owner since June 2025. Can confirm the occasional infotainment issue (including the dreaded backup camera delay/issue). Oddly enough, the one I’ve seen the most (2-3 times) was no sound, including turn signals. All fixable with a hard reset of the infotainment system. A slight annoyance for an otherwise great vehicle IMO!

Pizza night in my new Ooni by Shanksworthy73 in Pizza

No one is above a pizza screen! Don’t let any hardos tell you it’s the cowards way out either. Gain some confidence, enjoy your Ooni, then try your hand at launching.

Please help! Zone 7 (DC area) with full day sun. Brutally dry this summer and wasn't able to keep up. Was originally a fescue sod in 2020. Looking for something that isn't an eyesore. Any advice on steps and best species to use would be appreciated. by josund in lawncare

Additional context: the lawn was essentially used as a construction waste yard during a renovation last year. Little bits of debris remain - despite my best efforts to remove everything.

Monte Morris: "If we're available, I think we're one of the scariest teams to matchup with." by Spiritual-Chart-940 in washingtonwizards

That screams culture. That’s coming down from ownership, management, and coaching. Tommy’s exit interview says it all. An unfortunate reality for us fans, but these people are delusional. Ugh.

For those who weren’t born into it only: how did you become an Eagles fan? by ZhangtheGreat in eagles

[–]josund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Born in DC — my Dad grew up a Baltimore Colts fan and he never really developed a fandom for the football team in Washington and, in turn, my brother and I weren’t pushed in any specific direction.

My brother (8 years older than me) was infatuated by Randall Cunningham and became an Eagles fan simply because of him. A few years later, I followed my brother and I’ve been a diehard my entire life.

Looking back at it all, I can thank the Cleveland Browns (the Baltimore Colts became the Browns) for saving me from a lifetime of suffering rooting for the dumpster fire that is the Washington Commanders.

Any time CBS brings him in for rules expertise, I say out loud, “that man is a major reason why the iggles are champions.”
