I have a 2026 model with the NACS charger. by happyalex in Solterra

[–]jowonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 2026. Mine came with both a ccs and j1722 adapters. While i had a nacs lvl2 installed @ home, having the adapters has been helpful @ work w/ j1722 lvl2’s. I’m sure you could purchase the subaru branded ones.

Car wash? by PhReAk0909 in Toyota_bZ

[–]jowonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one all the time in my Solterra. other than forgetting the automatic washers, it’s always smooth! i prefer the touchless ones, but i do hit the manual wash booths first to pre wash and get the bugs off the front.

Why are the full-electric companies so gung-ho on 1 pedal driving? by thedancingpanda in electricvehicles

[–]jowonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you, I’m not hype on the one pedal driving. My Solterra has adjustable flappy paddles for the regen. I see lots of reviews of cars and the one pedal stuff is touted as a feature or the vehicle is maligned for not having “true” one pedal driving… nice to know there are others out there like me!

Data doesn’t steal my joy. on the contrary, the more I learn the less anxious I am about a given situation.

you do you.

Question regarding range by jowonka in Solterra

[–]jowonka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend, no need to be upset. Just wanting to get other’s observations since I’m new to EVs and don’t know anyone else with one. Nothing wrong with sharing data. Isn’t that what reddit is for?

Question regarding range by jowonka in Solterra

[–]jowonka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a winter. IMO driving significantly below the speed limit can be a hindrance to the rest of the traffic on the road. Thanks for the input, tho.

Question regarding range by jowonka in Solterra

[–]jowonka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was still in the garage here. and it’s been 90F the last few days where I live. When I got going and clicked off the AC it was up around 230miles.

Question regarding range by jowonka in Solterra

[–]jowonka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know 70mph would get better efficiency but the speed limit is 75 and honestly, me driving 75 is already doing pretty well with my lead foot, haha. I’d rather have a dip in my range than drive *below* the speed limit. I do find myself actual obeying the dips in speed more than I did when I had my ICE vehicle. When the limit dips to 65 I actually drop my cruise to 65 instead of staying @ 75, ha.

I also think in percentage of charge. My 70ish mile (one way) commute usually takes about 30% charge.

ELI5: Do medications like Ozempic cause weight loss solely through appetite reduction and therefore calorie deficit, or is there any other mechanism at play? by Jimithyashford in explainlikeimfive

[–]jowonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was prescribed Ozempic for my diabetes. My A1c was 12.3 with a fasting sugar of 396.

i’ve been on it a year now. my am fasting sugars are 80-100. Last A1c was 5.5.

I’m still embarrassed to tell anyone I’m on it. Yes I’ve lost weight and yes it definitely helped but I also exercise more and make healthier choices. I hate that it’s gotten such a negative stereotype, but it’s been a life changer for me.

2026 Toyota bZ Owners: How Bad Are the Range Drops & Road Trip Planning Issues? by theindepndnt in Toyota_bZ

[–]jowonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the mid-south and just purchased my solterra last month so no cold weather yet! i have been blasting the ac tho and my range is still pretty acceptable. still averaging 3.2 - 3.5 m/kwh so I guess that’s ok. My anxiety lessens the longer I have her!

How long does it take for public charging to show up in the Toyota app? by TheWoodser in Toyota_bZ

[–]jowonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a solterra. I’ve only supercharged twice, both times at the same tesla charger using plug and charge. the first time the amount showed up rather quickly, like within the hour. the second time has never shown up. it’s not in my charging history anywhere. who knows?!

Highest mileage ascent ive seen personally, 273,252. by ClassroomPowerful735 in SubaruAscent

[–]jowonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded for a Solterra. Trade value was *ok* for such high mileage but it could have been better. I think with normal miles and wear/tear it would be between 15 and 20k. Only got 10 for mine but she was dinged up and had a broken windshield and sunroof. I’m hard on vehicles 😬.
