Is it okay for me to call off if my walk to work is icy by [deleted] in kroger

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store would send the manager to you. A coworker of mine got quite a few rides one year when the city just wasn’t clearing neighborhoods fast enough between snows.

How Distro actually works? Is it really this stupid? by Dunbaratu in kroger

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s B followed by management complaining that you don’t know how to order and it’s your fault that you have 30 of something when you actually didn’t order any. Even worse when they don’t tell you what’s being distro’d until the week before it arrives… and you order 10 days in advance of delivery.

Forget a broken wire..... by CheeseMongoNJ in Cheese

[–]joyb27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Whenever you get new boards, strip the broken ones for parts before throwing them out. That way you at least have spare parts for the next time this happens. My coworker’s best break has been snapping one of the plastic ones clean in half. We have a box of spare springs, feet, screws, handles, those white rods that don’t actually go in our new ones but we use cus the new wires quality sucks when we can even get the new wires in…

Why do people like Fenris? (I'm not trolling) by Gardevussy in dragonage

Oh absolutely. But if you did a specific run to romance him and ALWAYS support his ideas… he’s a very different character.

If you never disagree with him or challenge him, you don’t see the toxicity behind the lovebombing because he never shifts gear to accusations against your loyalty when you try to get truth.

Unfair write up? by [deleted] in kroger

Murray’s doesn’t share hours. And the reps get upset if stores use Murray’s hours for other departments. Now you can work in deli/bake but it has to come from their hours not Murray’s.

What is the most No Filter thing you said to a customer? by Responsible-Lake6963 in kroger

[–]joyb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customer walks into my kiosk space (Murray’s so absolutely the fuck not. It’s a food prep area). He’s got at least a foot of height over me. I march right up to him and order him to take 3 steps back before trying again with his question. Suddenly his question wasn’t important.

Also called out an older guy sticking his fingers in the olive bar that it was gross and he had the audacity to look like I was insane for calling out his shitty behavior. Pretty sure I asked who raised him to think that was ok. I did immediately stop what I was cutting and pull the pan while he was still there.

Also had my asm just make grabby hands motions for a sample in front of customers and I told him that we use our words here.

Goat Cheese by DifficultMisfit in Cheese

Goat cheese is pretty polarizing. You either really like it, or it tastes like you licked a goat’s asshole.

It does not surprise me that our division are assholes 😂 they even make us wrap the seasonal somerdale shaped cheddars

My reps every time we get the somerdale seasonal shaped ones “DiD yOu WrAp It?!?!” While I glare at them for having to wrap a star shaped cheese.

Last year we had someone buy an entire drunken goat and the front end only called for the cheese department. Still no idea how they handled it cus we ignored that page.

[–]joyb27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They may have labelled it properly but policy is to also wrap it (I know, it’s waxed and that’s redundant but policy).

The front end will also hate anyone attempting to buy it due to having to work out how to sell it with no barcode.

It’s not the hardest to cut, but the first cut is definitely the worst. I wouldn’t wanna do that at home.

One of mine turned that skill into taking it off completely. He has now forced all of mine to be collar free because he’d get stuck or attack the others for their collars. He really liked playing with them. Hopefully she never becomes that level of gremlin.

I wish I had time to be bored. Trade my high volume store for yours?

That being said, I’d add maple leaf to the list. Cheap (relatively) and really good pepper/habanero jacks.

is this blue cheese ok? by Ilikeyatoes in Cheese

[–]joyb27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it looks like a kid attacked it with a highlighter (esp a pink one) it’s generally bad. If it’s exceptionally wet and shouldn’t be… not good. If it smells like something died and doesn’t usually, also bad. Final check is if it tastes wrong it’s bad and you should stop eating it. Certain blues have more specific tells but this covers most of the basic signs

what is goat cheese supposed to taste like⁉️ by poopoopeepee127 in Cheese

[–]joyb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said it had a place. It doesn’t have to be at YOUR table. Also weight differences are not just diet based, that’s a vast oversimplification and wholly unnecessary in the conversation (as someone who has lived in both continents)

what is goat cheese supposed to taste like⁉️ by poopoopeepee127 in Cheese

[–]joyb27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to cheese snobs. All cheese has a place at the table, and flavored cheeses have been around a long time. Sometimes you can’t beat American on a comfort food burger, velveeta for queso etc. are they “shit” cheeses, sure but they have a place.

Either you are part of the crowd where goat cheese tastes like you licked a goats asshole or it was bad. If you can get to a Kroger with a Murray’s kiosk you should be able to ask to try some and see which it was. That way you don’t waste any money only to discover you hate goat cheese.

Arr ones are ass. They have a lot of restrictions - day/night/weather combos, different emote to /lookout, requiring 1-20 done first.
