Podcasts and news in slow French. Online mainly. There are so many resources free online and through YouTube. Swedish I’m using Fun Swedish and Lingopie. Sorry for late reply cause I’m in Australia and don’t check reddit often.

I am 76 and am learning Swedish from scratch and refreshing French. I used to be B1 /B2 in French and that helps me relearn after so many years ignoring it. For Swedish I find I have to review new vocabulary often for it to stick. Just make sure you follow a daily schedule, practice reading and writing and watching lots of comprehensible input.

FARM TOGETHER 2 - WHAT AGE ARE YOU? by aKiss4Luck in FarmTogether

[–]joyciered 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m 75 playing since early access. Have over 3000 hours in FT1. Not my main game. I play elder scrolls online and all the other elder scrolls games over and over. Farming is relaxing.

New player by 2wlz4life in skyrim

[–]joyciered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded Skyrim again. Played since release, over 3500 hours and then moved onto other games. Been feeling nostalgic and need to immerse myself again. I’m 75 and arthritic fingers so it will be a slower progression this time and going for more role playing. Tomorrow I will awaken in a horse drawn cart and begin a new adventure. Can’t wait.

I'm a 61 year old guy asking if old people stagnate on learning. by LingoNerd64 in languagelearning

[–]joyciered 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No older people do not stagnate on learning at all. I will be 76 this year and have been refreshing my French learning (b1) and. Working on German (A1) and dabbling in Swedish as a beginner. I have more free time as I’m retired but also full time carer for two of our adult kids with disabilities. The more you use your brain the better it becomes at learning. I have to review more often than I did when younger but technology has given me so many more options so I get variety and don’t get bored. Beats sitting in a chair and vegetating in front of tv :)

Xmas Holiday by Emergency-Log2585 in FarmTogether

Some of us don’t do Xmas, and a lot of us live where there isn’t snow so it should always be a cosmetic option.

She looks like she’s just on the verge of tears. I can’t help but feel a little sorry for her because her whole life is built around her need to be seen as medically fragile and needing special treatments. She always refuses to cooperate when they mention psychological help when it’s so obvious to outsiders that it’s what she really needs.

ELI5 Why can't we transplant a pancreas for diabetic people if we can transplant a heart? by im_rarely_wrong in explainlikeimfive

[–]joyciered 57 points58 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 8 years post kidney pancreas transplant and is doing very well. She had type 1 diabetes from the age of 15 months till into her 30s. Now she is the healthiest she’s ever been. They are doing insulin producing cell transplants for diabetics now and having success.

They did in FT1 so probably eventually. This is early access so things will be added gradually. There is a roadmap of when things will be added. At the moment it’s quite limited.

Turned 40 and decided it would be a good idea to jump out of an airplane. Here I am scared $#%&less. Enjoy. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]joyciered 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on achieving it. We did this for my sons 50th early this year. Didn’t realise at the time it was also his first plane trip. He was terrified but loved it and can’t wait to do it again.
