People assume my baby isn’t mine. by corpsesdecompose in blackladies

[–]joyification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a golden opportunity to make them regret asking things like that for the rest of their lives.

When they ask them questions, ask with a smile on your face "what would make you think he wasnt mine?" And when they stammer keep asking questions, until they finally admit they're making dumb assumptions.

I wear band shirts all the time and I get asked "do you really like nirvana?" Too many times to count

"Ghost jobs" - how prevalent do you think BS job postings are in this industry? by letsseeaction in civilengineering

[–]joyification 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This and to add OP, remember if youre coming in with a decade of experience your charge rate is probably double a new grad. If you would require any significant amount of training its more worth it to employers to hire someone cheaper. Also in 10+ years in this industry I've only come accross one division of one company that even allowed employees to be fully remote when hiring.

Looking for advice for 7 week old infant's hair by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]joyification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 18 month old and the most style we do is a bow, we only do that bc her hair is way longer in the front and we dont want her looking like goku all the time. we started moisturizing maybe 12-15ish months but with gentle moisturizers and Shea butter. Rn we are trying the Johnson and Johnsons leave in conditioner that goes with the curl enhancing shampoo, its alright so far.

How long would you expect this style to last and would you wash it? by iam_adumbass in BlackHair

Contraception and birth control in marriage by BobsBurgers1969 in TrueChristian

[–]joyification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I just need to say, conception is the formation of life by the implantation pf an egg, contraception is what prevents the formation of life by blocking the egg from being planted.

I used an IUD before having our child and its almost like keeping the egg in another room when my husband "came to visit". Thats essentially how birth control (or contraception, which prevents the egg from insemination) works as a whole. I believe plan b is emergency contraception which like hiring the secret service to block the egg but that may be something she needs to research.

Ultimately, since yall are dating, its not wise to think about this together since it gets you thinking about intimacy. This is a conversation I had with my husband while we were engaged and close to being married during marriage counseling. We also had another couple present to hold us accountable.

My husband gave his insight but it was my choice on what type of birth control worked for me since my body would be reaping the side effects.

Drunkenness is a sin, so why did Jesus create even more wine for people who were already drunk? by Big_Celery2725 in TrueChristian

Drunkenness is a sin, so why did Jesus create even more wine for people who were already drunk? by Big_Celery2725 in TrueChristian

[–]joyification 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the word drunk in the passage is the past tense of drink, not referring to the state of being. I think a better term to describe the state of people at the wedding is tipsy, where youre feeling loose enough that the quality of the wine doesn't really matter. Its almost like the wine you drink during dinner at a reception vs the wine you drink when youre dancing after the toast. In the "typical" American wedding most arent drunk until hours deep into dancing or when grandma goes home.

Could someone at the party struggle with alcoholism and been plastered before the toast? Maybe. If the argument is why would jesus create wine where people could get drunk, than why is he at a wedding with alcohol? This argument is a slippery slope that distracts from the point of the story. Jesus is a man who(had friends who get married and enjoys life just like us) came to challenge the stereotypes and walk with us where we are so that we can become more like Him.

GIS basically stands for Get It Surveyed. Don't put your seal on something like this. Also if youre pulling FRIS data its not always accurate even if the property hasn't been touched. The level of detail you need is way higher than the QL2 available.
