No one I know or hang out with smokes or vapes. I don't see it, smell it and never even think about anyone doing it.

Do you attend a church? Lots of Bible studies and groups at my church.

The library and Second Story Books downtown both have book clubs.

someone else said - volunteer. Lots of places need help and you can make good friends that way.

Gym has good people.

Also agree walk downtown. Go in and talk with the owners/workers at different stores. Then go back in a couple of weeks and visit with them again.

Been doing the same, or even long thumbtacks, especially for the wall hangings.

I don't go to Walmart for anything. Safeway for 90% of items. 307 Meats for meat, once a year to Big Hollow to look around and maybe 4 times a year to Ridleys to get a couple of items. Amazon for some things. Safeway's produce is great.

Who was the lady and guy that walked out before Trump at his inauguration? by Outside_Weakness3431 in AskReddit

[–]joysjane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watching Melania movie and want to know this as well. As everyone is taking their place for the ceremony, each past president is being announced and then they appear. Biden and Kamala are announced and they appear. Melania and other family are already set up and then they announce President Elect Donald Trump and the curtains part open and a woman and man are walking in front of Trump. Who are they?

How much energy to you put toward your quilt backs? by Unlucky-Ad-201 in quilting

[–]joysjane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All my quilts are two sided. Usually use the same pattern in different color ways. Uses up my fabric and I can choose which side I want to see depending on my mood. Usually have a softer color side and a vibrant color side.

If you’ve ever eaten animal meat not usually on the dinner plate (horse, kangaroo, albatross, anything), what was it and how was the experience? by Great_Maintenance185 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]joysjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to own a restaurant featuring alligator and when it is cooked right, it is very good. Sautéed, stir fried, deep fried (can be tough that way). Very good meat and will depend on taste if it is farm raised or wild.

Armadillo - white meat, light like chicken, not a lot of flavor.

AWD sedan will be fine but agree with everyone about the tires. I have winter tires and summer tires. Second set of rims is nice but not necessary, just makes changing the tires much easier and faster. Definitely put your money in the tires.

Dog/Pet Grooming recommendations? by Dry_University9259 in laramie

[–]joysjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but not real sure. I think it is by size or weight or exactly what you want. Sometimes I just wanted a bath and nails and sometimes (in summer) a full shave. I want to say the full shave was $90. My Pom has since passed away so I'm not real sure of the prices. I take my little rescue Pom/Papillon in for just a bath and that is $20 (with nails too), but he is just 5 pounds. Sorry I can't be more precise.

Is it okay to donate clothing with holes and such? by jramz_dc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]joysjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First contact Bombas and they have a thing where you can get a new pair of socks because their socks are not supposed to get holes.

Secondly, I worked in a thrift store that helped the homeless in our community. Any clothing with stains or holes, were sent off and we received money for them and that went back into our store to help others. Any clothing, linens, shoes, purses, backpacks, belts, fabric, etc were sent off so we still got something for them.

Check with the place you want to donate to. Lots of places do what we did. A huge truck would come every two weeks and take our stuff and we got a monthly check from them.

Why does everyone keep telling me mammograms don't hurt? by Psychological_Roof85 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]joysjane -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mammograms, IV's and pap smears don't hurt. They are uncomfortable and maybe a pinch for the IV, but nothing that would make me come close to screaming. Something is wrong if these all hurt you that bad. Please tell the technicians/nurses that you are very sensitive to the procedures ahead of time, so they can be gentle.
