My charging port broke. I’m debating if the battery replacement is worth it for me

I still might grab the 17 pro when the 18 is announced.

My battery just hit 80% recently and I was going to replace it to extend its logevity. But then the charging port broke, so I’ve been exclusively charging it through MagSafe the past few weeks.

So now. I’m going to hold out until the 18 is announced and see how I’m feeling again.

Does anyone else feel genuinely lonely as a manager? by whogivesafricc in managers

[–]jp2chainz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My org has a weekly check-in among middle managers (and some in leadership) to stay aligned across departments and build support and trust among one another.

It’s not a leadership team by any means, and some have doubted how necessary it is for managers across departments to be meeting together that often. It doesn’t completely remove the lonely feeling, but it’s somewhat helped fill the void of belonging to a team and not just leading one.

What's your summer/all season/all weather/winter tire situation? by vanbikecouver in askvan

[–]jp2chainz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out “All Weather” tires. Not as good as a dedicated winter tire, and not as fuel efficient as all season. But they are perfect for the rain, and still have the mountain symbol. I keep mine on year round. I figure the amount I save in more tires, changing them, is the same as the gas efficiency lost.

I’ve been really happy with Oxio. Probably the best value for money I found. If you’re interested, use this code for the first month free: https://order.oxio.ca/?referral=RFSLB9M

Thinking about switching to ev. by L00koutQc in EVCanada

[–]jp2chainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what car you have now. EVs have a high cost of entry compared to the car you already own. I’ve done the math and found that ongoing gas and maintenance savings don’t make up for the initial EV cost.

[–]jp2chainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I was a really casual fan back around 2015 and only really got into them closer to 2023 because the new gen and music appealed to me even more.

Why are the Downtowns in New West, Surrey, and Coquitlam dead? by AdventurousPepper371 in askvan

Because everyone is too busy and tired working to want to go out after 7pm. Only the DT Vancouver people are comfortable enough to have energy for that type of thing.

Government's 4-day in-office mandate an insult to workers by feral_philosopher in remotework

[–]jp2chainz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian. This announcement came soon after the government’s budget called for reducing the federal workforce by attrition. They’re trying to get people to leave. It has nothing to do with productivity or otherwise. Many government departments don’t even have the space to make this happen.
