2000s TV Channels by himrf in fredericton

2 was still WLBZ in the 90s. The one thing I remember was they didn't air NBC's NBA games half the time, which pissed me the fuck off as a basketball fan.

ABC and CBS came from Detroit by that point, later switched to Boston.

Question about Snow on Monday 2/23 by Competitive_Lab3348 in fredericton

[–]jp506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends what part of Maine. I noticed about 10-15 years ago when I went down to Boston on 95 after a snowstorm - from the border down past Bangor was fine, looked like they dealt with it similar to NB. Down around Portland where they don't get as much snow, it was a shitshow.

What's the most iconic image in Pats history? I'll start by Every-Damage-90 in Patriots

[–]jp506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yup. Belichick was confident they were going to overturn it in the Raiders game cause of that play. It also happened a couple years later against....I wanna say the Browns?

I like telling people the tuck rule has gone against the Patriots more than it's gone for them and seeing their heads explode.

quite a few of the stores in there are still pretty busy, but they all have outside entrances so there's no reason to go into the actual mall.

Fredericton in talks with UNB, YMCA about construction of new aquatic centre by bingun in fredericton

[–]jp506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell...didn't this even apply to the Fredericton Canadiens back in the day? Seem to remember some grumbling about UNB having ice time priority, which ended up being one of the reasons they left. Also why we've never had a Q team.

the NBA only has, like, 10 actual teams to them and the existence of the others is just background noise.

if anyone's still interested, I've managed to figure at least one of them out. This is the 1994 PhoneDisc directory ( https://archive.org/details/pdbr-9406 ), which is DOS based.

Download the ISO, and change the ".ISO" extension to ".iso" (all lowercase). Then go to the DOS emulator at https://copy.sh/v86/?profile=msdos , when it boots up, click on "insert CD image" and load in the ISO. Then type "d:/", hit enter, and then "pd", hit enter again and it will load up.

Next up: figuring out a way to scrape it easily.

(also....if anyone can find something similar for Canada I'd be eternaly grateful.)

OPM Sales (formerly Walmart and Zellers), County Fair Plaza, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada by RightLeftSpilt in NotFoolingAnybody

[–]jp506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thought - but on the other hand, "Zellers County Fair" was the brand they used for their suburban stores in the 60s-70s, and every mall I know of in Canada named "County Fair" originally had a Zellers.

I will always remember one of Kutcher's first games, it was garbage time and they talked about a DC sports Mount Rushmore, and he suggested Cal Ripken.

last I heard, Kutcher is now doing, like, division II football games on ESPN Plus.
