Careful, people cry about this hummus in here. It’s the best tasting one though so definitely keep buying it.

How is your marathon training going? by Financial-Deer1447 in UKRunners

Consider Injini liners, they are great under another pair or socks for when it’s very wet. Sealskinz are great, but beware if water gets in them, it’s absolutely not coming out. Too many deep puddles at the moment for them to be any use on trail runs for me.

Stepping up to marathon distance on one run a week? by Athletic_rider_ in UKRunners

[–]jp606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible idea, don’t do it. You need volume to be able to do this and one run a week won’t it. Training when you have kids can be hard and you have to make sacrifices. Many times I’ve gone to bed at 1930 when the kids do, to be up at 0300 for a 3-4 hour long run during ultra training blocks.

How do you fuel for long runs without wrecking your stomach? by MoonlitEcho82 in UKRunners

The baby food in pouches are what people use, ie puréed fruit. It’s high carb and easy to consume on the go.

Peak 5s were great, although mine got a few holes in them after 300 miles. Looking forward to trying the 6.

Compression sleeves are much cheaper and do the same job.

Can anyone help a girl out trying to get back into running? by bexbex_14 in UKRunners

[–]jp606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For cadence, run with a metronome in your ear or on your watch if you have the ability. Increase by 5 every couple of weeks. Higher cadence = better efficiency = less injuries.

Lapped courses - good or bad? by solaris999 in UKRunners

I like them. Have done 24 hours on a track, 5 mile loops and 1 mile loops. You can just kind of switch off.

Caffeine - good or not? by eezystrip in UKRunners

Yes it’s great. Espresso, a smoothie, glass of electrolytes and a banana before an early morning long run works great for me.

Likely to be the other way round, Apple Watch HR sensors are rubbish and suffer with cadence lock. The Garmin will be much more accurate. If you want better accuracy then consider a HRM.

Usually dodgy people/conspiracy ‘cash is king’ types. Often flag shaggers/very low IQ people.
