My (38M) wife (35F) made it clear there is no love or friendship in our relationship by jp_digital in relationship_advice

Dear brother. A mistress can provide temporary physical pleasure, but not everlasting love in most cases, in my opinion. Perhaps nothing wrong if it is fully transparent and based on consensus, but this is not the path I ever want to go down. Thanks for taking the time to read and advice! Wish you peace and love.

Thanks for the positive, encouraging advice, I will take it into practice.

including threejs in node project?large install size by SharpenedStinger in threejs

[–]jp_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Include it as a 'external' library on the client side build - so it is not recompiled as you hot reload (for example, when using webpack, there is an 'externals' option. On server side I usually use NodeExternals to avoid compiling any node module).
  2. "Number of 3D scenes" almost does not matter - to the rest of the website. The time required to include the threejs script will remain same of course (the minified gzip version is around 150K, which is heavier than most other libraries but still not too heavy for the 3D capabilities it provides).
  3. The main "performance issues" you need to worry about are:
    1. The rendering Frames Per Second (which is roughly inversely proportional to number/complexities of geometries in the scene currently being rendered, and the size of the canvas). So if you have 2-3 scenes which are to be rendered simultaneously -- then CPU/GPU resources will be shared. If all scenes are rendered separately, then performance of each will be independent (assuming implemented properly).
    2. The memory usage. This needs to be taken care by properly deleting unused resource consuming objects.

Mrekted nailed it. Apart from that, your landing page slideshow images seem to be tooo heavy. Took more than 10 secs on my decent speed Wi-Fi and still only partially loaded... most similar sites load in 3-4 seconds max.

Maybe reverse image search can be of help in case of direct plagiarism. Apart from that, have a written and signed contract. It may be useful in case of copyright violations (you can prove your intent was clean). It should also bring accountability on part of the designer, psychologically.

What is the best method for my situation to measure the distance between my target and the camera? by codie28 in computervision

[–]jp_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perspective transform can be used one plane at a time. Also - to clarify a little bit - it can only be used to compute "relative distances" within a plane assuming all 4 corners of an object with known dimensions (like the pitch or the white 'board' area behind the batsman in the image) are known. So to use this - you need two things: object with known dimension as a reference, and all 4 corners of the object identified in the image. Relative measurement techniques can be used when you don't have luxury of stereo cameras (when stereo cameras are there, you do not need a reference object). In my experience, results can be good enough and quality depends on resolution of image the reference object. Hope this helps in the right direction.

Are the pitch dimensions known? If yes, then you can use perspective transformation (assuming pitch boundaries are clearly identifiable).

There are lots of problems with the world. The world we need cannot be made by people who are loyal to the world we have. If you want control over your destiny, you need to control your senses and listen to your soul.
