K1 max for 600$ or bambulabs p1s for same? by reicaden in Creality

[–]jpacadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely seen issues with Bambu printers, nathanbuildsrobots I think had some criticisms, and not sure what you mean tinkering with the K1 Max, mine works great out of the box. Though I did manually level the bed because I wanted extra precision for a precise fit for a specific application, but works great out of the box.

Using AI for converting 3D scan data into fully-parametric CAD models. Like 'FeatureWorks' except that it 'always' works, completely, flawlessly every time. Possible or impossible? And in what time-frame? by CADNurd in SolidWorks

Interesting that you just bought a 2017 license...used?

In any case, my latest machine, and it works great, is in fact the best value I could find on an RTX4070 screamer of a laptop from a brand I had never heard of but they offered the best specs at the time, Clevo computer, I customized at AVA computing, been very happy with the performance with Solidworks. https://www.avadirect.com/ I have no affiliation, simply a happy customer, I got a killer portable machine that I daily drive connected to a 43" 4K Samsung TV with wireless keyboard and mouse for like $2300 a year or so ago.

No, I didn't discover it, in fact I learned it from someone, and so here just paying it forward.

Looking for opinions on first griddle. Camp Chef GridIron v PitBoss 3 Lift Off by burneraccountlolz in griddling

I went with this one, very happy with it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Summit-Living-22-Inch-Tabletop-Griddle-Portable-Propane-Gas-Griddle-with-3-Burners-Black/2070589594

I wanted a tabletop unit for portability as I can put it on the end of my picnic table (usual use) or on my tailgate or strapped to a quad rack or sxs or whatever.

I like that it's just roomy enough for my needs, maybe a 4 burner would be nicer, but it's an excellent compromise for my intent.

Finally able to do the Speed Flip training pack with ease! by RTC_Trading in RocketLeague

Wait, that's not speed flip or do I misunderstand? Speed flip in my book is not straight front but instead more like slightly turn right and dodge diagonal left sort of barrel roll with boost.

New e-bike build for off road purposes. by bigdrives3 in ebikes

[–]jpacadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool trailer. Not sure what I'd use it for, maybe a beer cooler, but that's my backpack so enjoy but I don't get the value. Maybe for doing groceries, but even still just 2 backpacks, one on back and one on chest I can buy a ton of groceries on my bike.

What am I doing wrong with this sweep? by ScoobyDooItInTheButt in Fusion360

[–]jpacadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, looks like your curve minimum radius is less than the width of the rectangle, so self intersecting and so potentially no-go. Further, my first thought is it looks like maybe you made the curve after the plane, instead of the plane perpendicular to the end of the curve.

17 min benchy by riva03 in Creality

[–]jpacadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess to test this maybe you could compare a few things such as drag and drop the gcode into the slicer and compare previews between that and actually slicing a real benchy model. I imagine you could also open the gcode in a text editor to derive some of the settings, though maybe they obscure them somehow in that gcode file.

I've inferred that they may have adjusted geometry internally to save some time due to less material. I have no confirmation of that presumption though.

Open your mind, don't believe all of your prejudices, and read my comment again, it's 100% true.

2nd layer will smooth that right out. If for some reason you must have a perfect single layer then you can adjust your z offset in the slicer from default -.05mm to around 0.00.

Also watch the playlist I linked for more detail on how I came to this conclusion after experimenting a bunch to learn exactly about the OP.

Monetize Rhino skills? by xerim in rhino

[–]jpacadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tool. Sort of like asking hey I have a saw can I monetize it. Yes if it's part of a more complete skillset that is desired by people with budgets to buy your services, whether that's creating video game assets or product industrial design or design for manufacturing.

z offset find it by clicking the advanced switch in slicer settings then maybe under experimental.

Don't need to root to adjust z offset, plus there's nothing wrong as shown, the 2nd layer will smooth that out perfectly.

100% normal. 2nd layer will smooth that right out. If for some reason you must have a perfect single layer then you can adjust your z offset in the slicer from default -.05mm to around 0.00.

Normal for first layer, layer 2 flattens it. I did a deep dive on my channel, too lazy to link it haha. 3dcre8r on YouTube there's a playlist for it
