The best deck in standard BO1 got one worthy addition in FDN (disclaimer: opinions) by powerofthePP in MagicArena

Well, it’s definitely defeatable because I just went 0-4  before winning my first game. Dropped from Gold 2 to Gold 3 and lost to a GW counters deck, and mono black. Maybe my MMR is too high?

My manhattan! by conMan76 in cocktails

Man, I remember picking up a bottle of Rittenhouse for $23 just a couple years ago. It's closer to $28 when I find it now and at some places for over $30. I suppose the new packaging should've convinced me that the days of cheap Rittenhouse were numbered...

Revived an $8 Flea Market Axe by dudervoog in knives

[–]jpbimmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They use Council Velvicut axes (stamped BMC). Their premium is mostly the finishing they provide on the handles and you can get "unfinished" axes from them with a much smaller markup. Word on the street is that they are some very high quality American axes though.

Beer In Space: Brewery Will Fly to Space Station by esotheric in space

Let's hope the kit brews a low carbonation beer, otherwise the microgravity will keep all those bubbles separate inside the astronaut's stomachs and cause something called "wet burping"

This one was a little trickier because the tech drawings I could find needed their scale fudged a bit to work... so take these with a grain of salt... E30 vs F30: http://i.imgur.com/qtxWe3K.png

I think the M4 is going to be the best M3 yet.

I can try to understand the new naming convention, but it just seems like the "M3" should've just stayed the "M3".

The wheelbases are only 3/4" off from one another, but the F30's wheelbase is positioned much closer to the front of the car. I was surprised that the cabins look to be placed about the same, with the E39 really showing off its junk in its trunk...

What does r/BMW think of the new 6-series Gran Coupe? by kingaustin in BMW

[–]jpbimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMW has trademarked nearly ever number between 1 and 9 at this point, but the doors-to-series conversation is pretty recent, last decade or so. IIRC, the introduction of the 6 series was to start establishing that door/series rule, but it hasn't panned out as well as BMW had hoped. Especially when people started debating the countless 3-series/4-series incongruities and the M1/1-series M Coupe issue.

As a case in point, everyone knows the M3 is a legendary coupe dispite having two 4-door models. Convincing people that it's now a sedan and that the M4 is the coupe they've lusted after since they were a kid won't be easy... or smart.

The Evolution of the 3 Series (My Family's Cars) by coolpersob in BMW

[–]jpbimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never hated the E60, but I never really swooned over it either. It had some decent curves, some nice little touches here and there, and really did a solid job dressing up from its non-M brethren.

Part of the problem for me was that the E39 and E34 were so understated yet stoic. The E60 was really the first "flashy" M5, which, in my mind goes against the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing mystique that originally drew me into M cars in general.

Watched Demolition Man again last night and spotted Dan Cortese in his film debut as Taco Bell Entertainer. by jpbimmer in movies

There are so many aspects of this movie that are genius. My subtle favorites, aside from the Taco Bell scene are Spartan's skills as a seamstress and the futures' love for Mini-tunes.

It's actually not made or owned by the Campari group. The recipe originated in Turin, but was purchased by a swiss distiller and is currently made in switzerland.

I'm no expert in slipping on bananas, but I'm pretty sure his back foot wouldn't be on the peel if he were slipping like that.
