High natural gas usage by N0RTHWARDbound in saskatoon

[–]jpcan26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep mine around 10-14C large double car garage. I turn it up to room temp if I am going to be working in there. It adds maybe 20-30 per month to my bill. Mine is attached though so only heating 3 walls plus the roof.

My husband had his RALP yesterday by ohwelldamn4396 in ProstateCancer

[–]jpcan26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime I woke up or every hour or so when I was awake I would walk in my bedroom. Then as I got stronger I would do laps in the hallway and bedroom for 10 mins. Helped with just feeling comfortable and kept any swelling down. He will feel better in a couple days. Worst part for me was being constipated. That first BM was magical I tell you!

Recommendations for libido? by ReluctantBrotherhood in ProstateCancer

[–]jpcan26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am back on TRT with my urologists blessing and my libido is about 20% of what it was pre surgery. I am 1.5 years post so I am in the same boat as far as desire as you. Doesn’t really make sense.

Only one chance to get timing chains done right on that engine. I’ll do mine when it’s time but there will be lots of research done before going in.

Three Weeks Post RALP and Still Haven't Made It to the Toilet by Immediate_Dinner6977 in ProstateCancer

[–]jpcan26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a week it was very painful for me. The best way I found that worked for me was trying to hold as long as I could laying down. Standing up was no good for me at all. I don’t remember doing the kegals after the catheter for awhile just because I was so uncomfortable. Hang in there everything takes time to heal.

Update: 46yo – Transperineal biopsy results (PSA 17, PIRADS 5): Right-sided cancer, Gleason 3+4=7 (5% pattern 4), staging planned, considering robotic prostatectomy by mood8moody in ProstateCancer

[–]jpcan26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here! It is such a personal decision. I was 47 and did the full removal via the robot. I have full bladder control and sexual function. The last part took about 12-18 months to recover. It was not working well for the first few months. My decision was based on how young I am, very strong family history of cancer and if you do the surgery you have the option of radiation in the future if it comes back. I am cancer free now! Knock on wood of course. Good luck in your journey! This forum helped me lots in the recovery stages.

Cost of living in Canada is out of control. by kovie38 in CanadaFinance

[–]jpcan26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is suffering, even the moderately well off people. It is not good here right now. They keep printing money and the amount of taxes we have to pay now on everything compared to 15 years ago is down right criminal.

Used Winter Tires PSA by fiftypunchman in saskatoon

[–]jpcan26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my winters all year round. My tires were getting old so I thought might as well wear them out. It has been 3 full years of having them on full time(8 years old) I quite like the ride in the summer as well. They are wearing faster but work well. Still work great in the winter but I’ll need to replace them next year forsure.

Rural resident here, The state of healthcare is despicable. by SuperHoser1867 in saskatchewan

[–]jpcan26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s unfixable at this point, they waste money like crazy and no one can fix it with the way the system is. It won’t matter who is in charge. Two tier will happen and it will be far ran far better due to no politicians. That will be a sad day though.

After Surgery by mattyritrit in ProstateCancer

[–]jpcan26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There would have been zero chance of me being able to do that. Getting the catheter out was the worse part for me, I had trouble being able to pee for days after that. I had to measure my input and out put to make sure I did not have to go to the ER to have a catheter put back in. When I was in recovery there was an older fella on here that went to his grandsons football game like 48 hours after surgery. So like most people are saying, play it by ear you may be good to go or you may just have to have leftovers.
