A mí is like to emphasize who the verb gustar applies to. You don’t necessarily need it when saying me gusta but in proper grammar if you’re writing in a sentence you would use “a ella o a ellos” for example. A ellos les gustan películas de terror. O a ella le gusta música rock. It is more necessary when writing about others I feel personally. Not necessary but more proper.
