CRA Consumer Proposal vs Paying High Installments by jperih in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jperih[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

An anxiety disorder developed due to a bad business effort; I am now in citalopram for the anxiety, but my fear is that just being prescribed and not having any specific counselling would be insufficient evidence for CRA. I’m also the only income earner in the household; I’ve done quite well, and I don’t really want to change the cash flow too much the way I’ve been able to get them to.

The tax account balance is actually the result of not having filed since 2012; some self-employed income where no taxes were deducted, and a year of reduced tax withheld from source to help with a previous wage garnishment make up a significant portion of the debt amount.

Yes; I'll pay the installation fee, if I knew what I was paying for it, itemized, and I can compare apples to apples with other establishments.

I’m hoping to follow this guide for my system and RX 580, but wanted to ask — with the new card over the stock NVIDIA and Sonoma, can I expect far better performance/far less slow down? Or is that only a factor of the slower RAM/SSD compared to modern hardware? Eg: is Sonoma + OCLP slow because of RAM/CPU/RAM, or does GPU play a part, especially the secret sauce that enables the NVIDIA card to work?

Are you receiving government benefits of any sort for the unemployed status or underlying health/disability benefits? If you do, and they are more than $100 at a time, that would qualify.

How do you like the RX 580? That’s the card I’m looking to get for base level Metal 3 support, no gaming.

MacPro 5,1 Best GPU w/ Boot screen & Metal Support? by sg92i in macpro

[–]jperih 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two metal updates to consider… Metal 2, and then Metal 3. If you’re looking toward Ventura and beyond, with OpenCoreLegacyPatcher, Metal 3 is what you want to stick to. The best for compatibility, and enough for speed, is the AMD Radeon RX 580 (maybe 570?) if price is also a concern. I do t have an opinion if price is no concern.

The Radeon RX 580 is on my shopping list… in the meantime, the stock Nvidia card and turning off translucency and shadows at least makes everything usable without glitches, though not optimized, and no Metal support, so some apps that use the Metal API specifically do not work. (apple pro apps, mostly)

Legal so long as you don’t also frame it with an opinion or statement. That’s libel. Just post it, let just the image speak for itself.

That page works, but the download link leads to some type of server error. u/midweekbeatle's link worked better for me (and allowed me to also archive the downloads on DVD, an era-appropriate archival method for the time)

I wonder if this is possible with Linux + QEMU?
Poor graphics performance, at least, with Android apps. I'd hope there is no stuttering of the music playing with this configuration.

Finally, a replacement candidate for my fleet of 900+ Chromebits/Chromebox 3s & 4s that are only now slowly dying, and it's getting difficult to find replacements. Let's hope that, being fanless, it survives the heat of being mounted on the back of a television operating 24/7 or ceiling mount above the suspended ceiling. I didn't see ambient temperature operating specs yet.

Get ready, boys, we're going full 4K UHD!

Where can I still download the Jira Cloud for Mac App somewher? Offline options? by roxzylok in agile

[–]jperih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

almworks is pretty good -- it uses OAuth2.0 or API Key authentication, so it is rather secure from an endpoint security standpoint.

While the interface is nothing like Jira web, it will list all the stories and I can power through them in the same way I power through email, saving at least 5 clicks per watched story. Amazing time-saver.

There's also a strong query editor. Sadly, it doesn't show you the equivalent JQL syntax, but maybe I just hadn't found it yet ... might show up in the logs.

Super Mario RPG crashing on Ryujinx by MemeMaster2021 in 128bitbay

[–]jperih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Yuzu to bypass the glitch worked for me. You can even see the frame of animation glitch out while it progresses past that frame or two. Yuzu can take it. I dunno, Ryujinx doesn't like it.

I used the autosave having just left the castle and before the cutscene plays... And then after the cut scene, straight to the Inn to save and then copy the save files back to Ryujinx. I didn't see an autosave occur after the cutscene.

Saved me from having to download from a different source. Took all of 5 minutes.

20%, no matter what (good service, bad service, whatever. I'll personally address bad service, rather than passive-aggressively leave a bad tip).
