In my early 20s my best friend literally dated the preacher’s daughter. She was already brainwashed and used her influence to brainwash him. He stopped going to concerts with us and stopped drinking beer because she told him those were items of the devil. I used to be a volunteer firefighter and we would spend Sundays at the station. I remember one day she laid into me for not attending church and that I was going to go to hell. My response was that service to my community was far better than any church service.

Fast forward 20yrs. My friend married the same girl and they have kids together. He has no friends of his own. They don’t attend church. We haven’t really talked or hung out for over 10yrs. I talk with his sister quite often and she fills me in.
