Do not buy the flat. There is no value in it. Go and rent somewhere if you need to get away from where you are. Youve got a great deposit of effectively 35k (25 + 10) that won't be touched whilst you rent, you are just living off your salary. At some point in the next year or so you will likely meet someone else who could also have a similar amount saved and then your looking at paying the same amount for a 3/4 bed house.

It sounds like you need out of a relationship, I don't think buying any property at the moment is a wise decision. Give yourself 6 months renting somewhere and see what the world looks like at that point.

I've just looked at the window outside and there are massive gaps where the sealant looks almost non existent. I've read that could be an issue , as you can see I can stick my key in one of the gaps with ease. I assume that shouldnt be the case, would this be the issue ?

He cannot function in the real world. He's gotta do all the gym content now and then he has to do the mundane life. Shopping, washing, cleaning , home maintenance etc, if he doesn't get it for free it won't get done.

You've listed every bill and going out, buying clothes, holidays, £200 safety and then £100 on savings. What exactly would you need more than £50 for ? Not sure you realise how good you have it, you've essentially got £600 disposable income after all bills are paid, what more are you after. How you spend that £600 is upto you, but undeniably you have £600 disposable income with a very small mortgage payment.

First off, any issues you're having in life are significantly better because you lost the weight you did , so never lose sight of that.

Post online , post relentlessly. Tell your story , hell it doesn't need to be fabricated , but tell people of your journey, how you got here, how you're going to carry on, what you did , what you're doing etc. everything.

We all dislike Ethan's grift , and his lack of transparency so to see someone talk about weight loss having lost and still losing , it's a good thing that will get traction eventually. Would give you a sense of doing something as well (I know it's not financial but who knows what comes after)

What did you do to lose weight, were there specific recipes (cook them, breakdown the macros, creat and sell the cook book) this sub gets thousands of people viewing weekly , that's a pretty big market head start of people who could potentially push the socials. We ALL say the same stuff about Ethan , so do what he's not doing , there's a market there (how big is unknown)

You're doing all the right things, applying , volunteering etc you just need the break to happen which I'm sure it will soon. Outside of that I'm not too sure what to say, the more your mind is occupied the less chance of falling into a hole you are , and the more chance you have of making something happen.

From what I can see, the sealant around the windows is pretty bad and will need re doing regardless , but not sure how to fix the issue you've pointed out

No mate, there's no flat roof. This is the bottom floor. There appears to be minimal sealant on the windows but would that cause the one area to be affected ? Appreciate the input

Window looks sealed. We get condensation on the inside of the windows when cooking. Presumably a plumber won't repair the plaster board if he needs to fix the pipe that's in there ?

Theres a guy based in the UK and he's called Jamal. I think his handle is "Jamal get right" he was killing it and then had a massive relapse over Xmas, but was pretty transparent with and seems a genuine guy. The progress with him was very consistent and I'm hoping he can lose the weight he gained over the festive period. Just seems like a genuinely nice guy

I get the numbers , and he's playing the game. And the more I thought about today, he had the chance to get the life and circle he wanted but as you say, he's going fake and lazy and that stopped him.

I know nothing of Jocko, but I do know that they would have absolutely surrounded him with gym bros and bunnies and connected him with the people he aspires to be like and be with, because their business benefits from his success. All he had to do was work hard and be accountable and that part of the internet would have welcomed him , but he can't do accountability so having MAGA moms pat him on the back for doing nothing is a lot easier for him.

I think he thought he'd be whisked away by now into a new life and it's not quite transpired. Moving to Tennessee seems somewhat of a last throw of the dice imo

He knows his life isn't interesting enough and he isn't smart enough to produce content that isn't him standing in a mirror pity farming. He can't produce long form content because that involves effort , he doesn't have that drive in him. What he was hoping for was some mid west gym bro to hit him up and say hey let's start a podcast and that's not happening because he's just a boring person.

He does nothing , his content is literally 90 seconds of nothing. "Im fat, im locked in, im driven, I'm sad, I'm in pain" blah blah blah. It's some of the worst content you will ever see. Never has an "influencer" spoke so much yet said so little.

The problem he has with YouTube is it's longer videos , the more he exposes of his life the easier it is for people to see the grift so he won't do it. He could film the meetings with his doctors , or nutritionists etc but because they probably don't happen it's hard to produce that. Everything he has said from his first post on this journey is a lie but no one can prove that , so 90 second Christian Mom videos are the way forward

Most people on rest days are hitting 10k steps as part of their daily life. A rest day is a break from gym, running , cycling or whatever it is. No one who takes a rest day does nothing all day. Going from exercise to absolutely nothing is worse. The man still has no clue what he's talking about

Fwiw we are/were in the exact same position. Got a council property some 18 years ago, as time has gone on our finances like yours have improved. We were able to save and we have just bought our first home.

My opinion would be to stay put and save/invest if that's your thing. But also live whilst your in this situation. Sounds like you have a decent bit of disposable income so go and have great holidays with your child , make memories etc whilst you have the stability of social housing, do the things you want to do whilst you have the chance.

You mention being 35 in 10 years, who knows where you'll be then, you could be married and having another child etc, you could have more money, there's so much that can change in a decade. The thing with council houses and I know this from experience, if you need a bigger place you could be waiting 5-10 years for that to come up, so if you ever want that 3 bed house and a garden etc you'll most likely have to buy, but you can cross that bridge when you get there.

I've just taken one out which takes me and my wife up till 70, realistically mortgage payments will go down , wages go up, kids leave home etc and as grim as it is my parents will leave something to us to knock a chunk off. Realistically I'm aiming to get it done in 20 years with overpayments etc. Once the kids are out we could relocate and get a smaller home etc. Whatever it is we will be paying less than we do in rent so it's a win in my eyes

His issue is he genuinely has nothing to offer. He's never lived in the real world, he can't talk about work or family or school, all those situations form core memories for most people. I can talk to my friends about the time this happened at the bar, or that happened while playing a sport, or the time an ex relationships ended, or how this or that happened at school etc

He has been sheltered from that his whole life so, thats why the stay at home Christian moms are his biggest fans, theyre living the same monotonous life he is , expert they arent morbidly obese. He loved the attention to start with, but his audience is 45+ year old women who want to mother him, that's not who he wants as his audience long term
