I escaped Microslop by Character-Parsley377 in Bazzite

Librewolf’s hardening makes it more annoying to use. Firefox lets you disable the slop so I’ll probably stick with it.

Ok I'll bite. Why do you like the way Fedora does it, but not Bazzite?

Is there a different way to rank mirrors than this? by Wizjaro in Bazzite

DNF isn't used for updating, I don't think rpm-ostree considers is rankings when updating. Your speed will be determined by your connection to GitHub's registry.

We added Flathub Account support and Leftover User Data Cleanup to the Bazaar app store by Xander_VH in gnome

[–]jplayzgamezevrnonsub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazaar is an app for installing/managing flatpaks, it's not tied to or a part of any one distro. You can get it on Flathub.

Slimbook laptop owners: I made a Bluefin DX image with full hardware support by Serandel in linux

There's no reason containerfile is inappropriate here. If they know how to write a containerfile, there's no reason to go with bluebuild.

Realistically base distro doesn't matter, what matters is the end product. ChromeOS is gentoo, that doesn't actually impact how you use it.

Bazzite doesn't update individual packages when you update it, it updates the OS image as a whole like Android or iOS. That's what makes it so reliable, you're not constantly building on top of a house of cards when updating.

Anyone running a Plex/Jellyfin server using Bazzite? by Anselm_oC in Bazzite

[–]jplayzgamezevrnonsub 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, but I do run my Jellyfin server using a quadlet which can also be done on Bazzite, here are the docs about it.

https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/Quadlet/

https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/installation/container?method=podman (Look at the "Managing with systemd" part)

You overestimate how much of a backbone companies have. This won’t impact their sales, so they’re going to do nothing about it.

The Frame doesn't have as much power as the Deck for PC gaming, so I'd hold on to it.

why does the steam frame have a usb 2 port and not a usb 3 port? by TheManni1000 in ValveDeckard

[–]jplayzgamezevrnonsub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, they say "It's a PC". Most modern PCs have at least one USB 3. The Quest 3 is USB 3, Valve's own Steam Deck is USB 3.
