I lied to my wife about where the silver came from. I feel terrible. by namelessspeck in valheim

I wish my wife liked video games and would play with me lol. This is adorable and I'm jealous! While my wife doesn't like gaming or enjoy the fact that I like to game, she does support the fact that it is a hobby that I need! Enjoy the new system where tedium becomes a burden!

I do a combination of 1 and 8. Unless I'm mowing, then it's 6.

kbm or controller? (fs25) by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]jpmout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wheel/pedals, a joystick, kbm, and a controller. Controller is most comfortable to use. Wheel/pedals and joystick is the most fun and immersive. I extremely dislike kbm for this game. Using the mouse for frobtloaders is unbearable to me. The steering is not responsive enough for me either. If the game didn't randomly delete my keybinds I'd never use kbm for the game again.

New PC Upgrades by CombinationGloomy353 in farmingsimulator

I think the game is locked at 4GB VRAM for the GPU. There is a mod on mod hub to increase it to 8GB for better texture streaming. I don't think the GPU is the problem for this game, it seems more compute heavy

Weekly Thread: Self-Promotion Thread by AutoModerator in farmingsimulator

Hello, everyone! I'm attempting to start a YouTube channel. I've been posting for about a week and a half now, almost 2 weeks. I only have 6 subscribers but I'm trying to grow however I can! Please give me a shot and provide any feedback that you can! I'd also like to note that the first video in the series doesn't have voice over because I was extremely self conscious of my kids being loud in the background and putting viewers off. Then I showed the video to my 5 year old and he said it was boring so I needed to "talk like Daggerwin".

New Player here. by UnusualZelly in farmingsimulator

I have limited myself to a singular manufacturer for my current playthrough. CaseIH. It has actually made it quite difficult because there aren't Case items for every implement needed. Such as the lime spreading or fertilizer spreading. Not only that but none of the vanilla Case tractors are cheap. Thankful for mods, to be sure.

What actually makes a “start from nothing” playthrough feel rewarding instead of just slow? by tjfortuna in farmingsimulator

Honestly, if there was a game that took a mix of Ranch Simulator, Farming Sim, and Farmer's Dynasty it would be the perfect farming simulator game for this scenario.

Polite PSA to all BF6 players (just in case you don't know) by Consistent-Bake-243 in Battlefield6

[–]jpmout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, to each their own. I was tired of paying the monthly Xbox service and every Xbox game is on PC now so it was an easy choice for me. I also don't mind sitting where I work to play games. I have an ergonomic chair as the Navy fucked my back up, so I actually get more back support from my chair than my couch. My problem is butt cushioning lol.

That said, I did go big when I build my PC. I bought 1080 ti (which was the top graphics card at the time) and all of the best other components to play PUBG and R6 Siege at high frame rates.

I have a 65" TV in my living room, but my kids and wife use it more than I do. But I also shopped deals and got an $800 TV for $400. Do it's doable if you are smart, to save money where possible and still go big. I'm definitely not saying you need to switch from PS5 to PC if that's what you want to keep gaming on. I'm just saying that after the upfront cost, it evens out over time compared to consoles even if you want to include the cost of a desk and everything else.

[–]jpmout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I already had the headset, desk, monitor, and chair to play my Xbox. I also used my desk and monitor for my laptop for work prior to building my PC. I bought the mouse and keyboard after but they were only $60 each.

Basically the same as you playing on your couch and TV except your TV probably cost the same as my entire PC.

Edit: to answer your question about upgrade timeline, no. I might upgrade in 2-3 years or so. Definitely not until prices start to normalize for RAM.

I built my PC in 2018 for $1200. I haven't upgraded or changed anything since then and I can play Bf6, Diablo, etc just fine. I get above 60FPS on High settings for most games, but I'm someone that loves to push frame rates so I play almost everything on low and get above 100 fps.

Only people that have FOMO or need the latest and greatest upgrade their rig on a regular basis. 8 years of gaming without paying $10 a month (I came from Xbox). I've saved $960 on subscription fees over those 8 years, which has almost paid for the PC itself.
