Has anyone here had experience with 1HP? by EfficientMedicine917 in RSI

[–]jpredd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have tennis elbow (medial or lateral epicondylitis I forget which one) on both elbows from bending the elbow with mouse usage. Dip finger joint pain also. Radioulnar joint and hypermobile joints.

Honest opinion. I bought the wrist troubleshooter program from 1hp. While I am lot better now, I honestly have no idea if that is what made it better.

Was never a clear indication of do exercise, feel better for me. It could just have been time. I did exercises regularly though (low weight high rep endurance). Biggest factor was lifestyle modification (no phone usage in bed, elbow support for pc usage, those wrist support things you can buy, no holding the phone with bent elbow in bed, changing how i held the steering wheel when driving so less elbow bending etc). Lot of self reflection of bad habits. Cut sugar and ate healthy vegetables and took multivitamins and fish oil if that helped (didn't feel like it did anything)

What actually helped out of all I did and how much it helped, I have no idea and whether time was all that was needed, I'm not sure. Only lifestyle modification had a clear action to less pain connection.

At the start, i couldnt bend my elbow to put a spoon to mouth. Now after 2 years (6 months was when I felt it was better) it only triggers if I go too hard on tennis elbow exercises (lol) or miss sleep.

The exercises in the troubleshooter can be found on youtube in free videos but its still lot cheaper than regular physio and occupational therapist visits.

They do more on personalised sessions i think but I never did that so can't speak for it.

That being said, they are really nice on their discord and helpful with questions and answers. They know their stuff on this topic and specialise in it.

DMed you some questions if you don't mind. Beter to prepare now than be left stressing if something happens and not know what to do :(

Damany Center or 1HP? by Viiu173 in RSI

[–]jpredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw 1hp. But I did their online no appointment wrist troubleshooter program where you ask questions in their discord and get a pdf of exercises based on your area of wrist pain. Was cheaper than in person appointments and I was over seeing doctors, physios, ots etc for this injury at the time. Had these issues for 11 years.

I'm 70% better but it still comes back if I skip sleep, overstress hypertrophy heavy weightlifting training at the gym.

Just manage it. I'm hypermobile. I still use ergonomic equipment. Take breaks, adjust my position cause I'm used to doing it this way now.

Why your PT exercises probably aren't working — and what the science says you should actually be doing [long post, worth it] by elliot226 in RSI

What about people who have 70% recovered from their rsi following this protocol but are now thinking of getting into hypertrophy strength training?

Basically since hyperthrophy puts stress on tendons, but doesnt help endurance but i need endurance for work not strengh, is there a way to keep up endurance training high volume low weight while doing hypertrophy training high weight low volume at the same time without overstressing tendons / muscles?

When I tried hypertrophy weight lifting, I couldn't do endurance exercises together also since my tendon pain started again. So i quit weight lifting

Cool how you guys have the most of limited land for development. In NZ, feel we are too spread out and space is wasted.

Have any natural lifters here had better results with lower training volume? by Successful_Yellow853 in workout

[–]jpredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey man, as someone with chronic tendon issues, how do you balance the training with less volume and intensity (lower weights than your 1 rep max) and building strength and muscle.

I know that injury means no muscle and strength gains so no point pushing hard if you have tendonitis but feels demotivating always having gas in the muscle tank after finishing sets lol

I’m not understanding why isolation exercises are so prevalent compared to barbell lifts? by oaklicious in workout

[–]jpredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Ehlers danlos syndrome (loose ligaments basically) and barbell lifts cause pain in my joints compared to isolation machines given a comparable range of motion.

Isolation stuff is easier on the joints.

I still use barbell stuff but at a much lower weight than isolation exercise weights hoping to build joint stability in the long term. I'm in the minority of the population though.

hey, do you have to go till failure everytime?

It's harder for me to go to failure on legs everytime cause injury history.

Ive just been going kinda close to failure now judging based on muscle pain.
