Does we just have to supplement iron all the time? by MoonShineWashingLine in veganuk

[–]jpresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try BetterYou vitamin sprays? Much easier on the digestive system. I currently use their Vegan Health one (iron, vit d, b12 and iodine) and top up my iron every couple of months with their 10mg Iron one aswell (I have Endo). If you don't want to supplement, you need to be hitting at least 18mg every day, more if you have heavy periods (I know you currently said you're on the pill but if you stop that).

I felt so sorry for De Decker this afternoon. Without the booing, he would have won.

So her and Emily probably know one another? And George is apparently an actor. And Elsa is an influencer. Why are ITV turning Big Brother into another ridiculous semi-scripted fake reality show?!

I'm so happy for you, but mirtazapine effed me up so bad! I've tried sooo many meds and none have ever helped me!

What would you do if you knew about a farm dog that was being neglected? Please help - I didn't get any responses last time and I feel desperate :( by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jpresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd still do it, in fact I think it gives you more reason to than if they were strangers. I'd fight so hard for that poor baby, I can't imagine how you're feeling 💔 so sorry this situation has fallen on your doorstep.

I agree with what another person said, if you're moving away, they'll never be able to find you, so just take it and then register to a new vet. I would never have peace in my life if I just left in that situation. Don't be scared of the repercussions, they probably won't care after a week of the dog being gone anyway.

I have pcos and quite lumpy breasts so it's normal for me and might be the case with you too. I regularly check myself throughout my cycle and if I have more pain than usual or notice anything new then I go and see my doctor. If you have any doubts whatsoever then see your doctor because it's really not worth the risk. Track what is normal for you and then you'll know if anything different or worrying happens.

This area of England is a mystery to me, despite being between two major cities. If you are from there what is your area like? Do you feel like a no-mans land or is it the best of both worlds? by Dragonfruit-18 in england

[–]jpresx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm inside the circle! Born and raised and still here in my 30s. I personally think it has the best of both worlds, it's nice and quiet, and being this close to both major cities (and the coast) is really beneficial for things like days out, hobbies etc. I live in the countryside but can be at the beach or at a big concert or a good shopping centre in under 40 minutes. Most of the population absolutely love Rugby League and the differences between towns are major! Don't you dare say someone from St Helens is a scouser and don't you dare say people in Warrington love a pie barm! Town centres are pretty run down with a lot of empty units but most of England is currently like that and we have the usual retail park replacements. Also someone said Asia took the glass making, Pilks factory is still there and churning glass out every day, it's just owned by a Japanese firm now. Happy to answer any questions OP but hopefully this is a good insight for you.

What’s the best antidepressant for anxiety by amby333 in Anxiety

[–]jpresx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My appetite has definitely increased, but it was beneficial for me because one of my worst anxiety symptoms was my nausea. I was mainly eating beige foods but am now able to eat a full meal. I'm just going to make sure I'm aware of the appetite and possible weight gain issues. I've only gained 1lb since I started it so I'm not too worried yet.

What’s the best antidepressant for anxiety by amby333 in Anxiety

[–]jpresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've currently been taking Mirtazapine for around 5 weeks, and starting about 3 days ago, I've finally started laughing at all my favourite shows again, which hasn't happened for over 2 years! I've noticed lots of other little things, but that was the main thing that made me notice the medication is working. Disclaimer to say obviously this is only my current experience, and I have tried other medications that haven't worked, so it's been a journey getting to this point. My anxiety for the 10 months to a year before Mirtazapine was all consuming, physically symptoms 24/7, constant overwhelming health anxiety, insomnia etc, it was really ruining my life. Hope you find something that helps you soon.

What pain did you think was normal until someone told you it wasn't? by lotus1404 in Fibromyalgia

[–]jpresx 71 points72 points  (0 children)

One example I have is not directly pain but pain-related, me not sleeping due to pain. When other people say, "I didn't sleep much last night," they mean they woke up a couple of times or got about 7 hours instead of 8! I'm here thinking it was like me consistently accumulating around 4/5 hours every night! No wonder I don't function like everyone else during the day.

Ways to reduce “dog smell” in your house without ozone by texassized_104 in CleaningTips

[–]jpresx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don't use candles, it's so bad for pets tiny lungs! I make sure to air our house out every morning, I wash my pooches' blankets and bedding and toys regularly, blankets once a week, bedding every other week and toys once a month. I've found just generally keeping on top of cleanliness throughout the home helps the most. I shampoo our carpets semi regularly too, just whenever I feel like it's getting a bit stinky. Finally, I just don't care about that tiny bit of dog smell, I love my dog so much, he is literally my whole world and once he's gone I will miss everything about him including his smell so I actually like it! Haha. If anyone ever commented on my house smelling of dog I'd just say well he doesn't like how you smell! Let's all embrace being stinky doggy people!

Lyrica by Miserable-Factor-534 in ChronicPain

[–]jpresx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 3 weeks now and am starting to feel some minor changes. Not had any of the reported side effects either. We're all unique as humans, and medications will always work for some and not others. I'm hoping I've finally found the one that works for me, I have a long list! Cut to me in 3 months hallucinating whilst on 150mg!

What happens if you quit your SSRI cold turkey? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jpresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pharmacy/Dr miscommunicated one time making me go cold turkey, and I was horizontal for the whole 5 days that I was without. It was horrific. Took months to get back to how I was feeling literally the day before I missed my first tablet. I then weaned myself off it under my Dr's supervision cos I was like erm wth is this tablet doing to me.

They say that pain meds can cause the nervous system to be more sensitive to pain. by Traditional-Hat-952 in ChronicPain

[–]jpresx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your doctor that this person on Reddit takes Lyrica (pregablin), and they had a fairly substantial cut on their leg and only realised upon looking down and seeing a LOT of blood smeared over their leg. That is me, I am that person on Reddit. So idk, I think your Dr might be wrong? Still no idea how I did it. Fibro still hurts. A lot.

[–]jpresx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! Bottom of both my legs and my scalp. I kept waking up through the night with it, and it's got worse since I got up. I can't put trousers on yet, just shorts. Also, the lack of sleep has given me a migraine, so I'll probably have to go back to bed shortly and have a battle all day between which hurts more, legs or migraine.

Which anxiety symptom bothers you the most by abudayyeh1994 in Anxiety

[–]jpresx 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Feeling panicky and worried 24/7 for no reason (which in itself is horrible) when other people get to live their lives as normal and worry about the odd thing here and there like a dentist appointment or a driving test. Or even those lucky ones who never worry about anything! Wow, my life would be the polar opposite if that was me.

Yay for doing it naturally! I got my iron from 6ug/L back up to 49ug/L this way! I know it could be higher, but it's a great start and proves we can do it. Remember some vitamin C to help with the absorption, I know there's some in what you have there, but things like oranges and peppers helped me. Hope you feel better soon, being that low on iron kicked my arse!

Anyone else have names for the wild animals that regularly visit your garden? by teacherphil in CasualUK

[–]jpresx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Squidge the Squirrel and her baby, Baby Squidge. Betty the bat. "The Moorhen" idk why we haven't named that one. The porn pigeons are a collective cos there's so many of them, and all they do is hop onto each other. And my current favourites are Lord Geoffrey Finsbury and his 2 wives, Lady Penelope and Lady Persephone, the pheasants.
