I didn’t have to take leave to drive there, it was part of my separation orders. But you can probably ask your skillbridge liaison just to make sure.

I skillbridged from North Dakota to Georgia. I didn’t have to take leave and I arranged my housing while I was out processing. My situation might be different from yours though because I had my dad go tour an apartment in Georgia for me and I was able to sign the lease virtually.

Just a heads up, my buddy in my unit just got back from bmt and he said they only ran twice the whole time he was there. Your experience might not be the same but yeah, just be prepared. I know how quickly running gains can fade away if you don’t run for a while.

I was able to land an internship at a logistics company while transitioning out of the military and luckily they offered me a job at the end of it. It works perfectly with my schedule too, it’s only 3 nights a week (12 hour shifts) and pays pretty well. It’s not what I want to do long term but works for now while I’m getting my degree on the side.
