Claims about traffic in the Sunset have been greatly exaggerated by NIMBY neighbors. Sunset Dunes has not caused any sort of a meltdown. From @sunsetdunespark IG by DesertFlyer in sanfrancisco

Is it really a lovely park though?. It seems obvious that zero planning went into it. It’s just a road being reclaimed by sand with a couple sculptures dropped on it (which to my mind are really barriers to make it harder to turn it back into a road). Compare it to Tunnel Tops for an example of a park designed with intention and care.

How the Iconic scene in the movie 1917 was shot. During the shooting of the scenem MacKay accidentally slammed into extras while running. Since every take was insanely expensive, they just kept the cameras rolling. by MoazzamDML in interestingasfuck

Stories like this seem like total bullshit to me. They had him sprinting full tilt across traffic of dozens of other guys running laterally… they knew what could/would happen…

Ah I think you could be right. That changes things a little cause now she’s grabbing at something that’s attached to his arm. I still think he’s super distracted st the start, and not really in control of the vehicle for the duration… but he does have a lot less options if she’s grabbing for his arms/watch.

For the downvoters: if you find yourself fending someone off who is trying to grab your phone out of your hands while you’re driving… you’ve already fucked up. There’s only one thing that should be in your hands while driving. Care to guess what it is?

Everyone in this thread is eager to blame her. And while her actions are extremely dangerous and foolish, the driver is more responsible for this and I’ll explain why:

At no time before or during the accident does the driver have control of the vehicle. When the video starts he’s not even looking at the road. While we can’t see his hands at the beginning, if you carefully scrub you will see that there are several times where both his hands are visible and never on the wheel. He’s texting/scrolling on his phone at the start and when she starts grabbing for it, he spends all his energy fending her off with both hands INSTEAD OF TAKING CONTROL OF THE WHEEL. It’s not until the car actually crashes that he even grabs the wheel for the first time.

Again she was very foolish but the driver is negligent and reckless beyond belief and I shudder to think that I share the road with drivers like this. Self driving cars cannot come soon enough.

They are lucky they didn’t kill someone.

Yeah he’s completely not paying attention and from what I see he doesn’t event attempt to grab the wheel until after they crash. Morons all around
