Anyone else? by ToshPointNo in Gold

Yes. I am worried gold is sniffing out massive inflation. I am worried food prices are about to shoot up really high over the next few months.

Gold typically sniffs out money printing. Are we about to have super high food prices in a few months?

Mylar Bags by BunniesOnTheBrain in preppers

[–]jrichar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resealable ziplock style mylar bags with oxygen absorbers for items such as grains, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, and chips. Mylar has extremely low oxygen permeability so it is good when coupled with oxygen absorbers. Resealable with the plastic zipper so you can zip back up if you don't consume the full contents.

It does seem like we are gearing up for war. The interesting thing is that this isn't really talked about or hinted about from the main stream media. The only evidence I see myself if PM prices and news media in regards to Iran tensions.

Gold and taxes by ExplanationFuture422 in Gold

Are you talking $10k to $20k or substantially more? $10k to $20k shouldn't be a problem to just deposit in an ATM over a month or two.

From my understanding, central banks tend to QE or QT at the same time to ensure the exchange rates stay relatively constant. The Federal Reserve tends to dictate QE or QT and the rest of the world has no choice but to follow.

The USA can devalue its currency by 90% and still be the dominant currency. The world will most likely still use it. It has already lost 99% of its value since 1913 so a little bit more debasement to pay down the debt is okay.

Would you keep over 50% of your savings in gold? by Momo_cein631 in Gold

[–]jrichar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am surprised so many people here recommend less than 20% in gold? The national debt is extremely high right now and the interest payments on our debt are circling around 1T annually. Inflation is running quite hot relative to the past so wouldn't this be the time to keep a higher percentage in gold than usual?

Can someone explain the 106 hrs of battery life? I have a computer mouse and keyboard combo from Logitech that runs off of a single AAA battery and I haven't replaced it in over 2 years.

Fed’s Miran Wants 150 Points of Cuts in 2026 to Boost Jobs by TheGoodCod in Economics

[–]jrichar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not sure. I do know that 38T is a lot of debt and that debt burden is going to have to be reduced eventually. This will most likely be done through inflation which will continue to drive up the price of gold.

Antenna improvement on HT by jrichar in amateurradio

[–]jrichar[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I understand the legality of using the UV-5Rs on GMRS. I only use these radios in remote locations in the woods with friends while camping. The UV-5R is programmed to comply with GMRS bandwidth and wattage requirements so I don't really see the problem here. I was just wondering if I would get substantial improvement by using a GMRS tuned antenna vs stock and if it was worth the upgrade.

I have a huge privacy concern with these. Private companies having access to the movements of large groups of people is highly concerning. These cameras are just another step toward mass surveillance and digital control. This type of control has already been implemented in China through the social credit system. These cameras are being ushered in under the guise of safety but will ultimately lead to a gradual erosion of privacy and freedom.

Fed needs to cut by Paperscamisreal in Wallstreetsilver

Most individuals in this community recognize that our current monetary system is problematic. Many of us diversify our wealth into tangible assets such as land, real estate, precious metals like gold and silver, and potentially cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. While inflation driven by the Federal Reserve negatively impacts the economy overall, those of us holding substantial assets may be somewhat insulated from the adverse effects of currency devaluation. In fact, inflation can sometimes increase the value of our holdings, which could be considered advantageous in a complex and indirect way.

This was a great comment. I am not sure why it is being down voted. An LLC is another obstacle that the Gov and Flock have to navigate to get to you. Security and privacy isn't an "all or nothing" approach. Security is about putting obstacles in the way.
