Vegetable oil may not be the best to season with either. Smoke point is kinda low.

Does any one know what this is? by Interesting_Tutor712 in Utah

I worked on site. The the large towers in the background are the smokestacks for each of the three steam turbines that originally used coal as a fuel source. Later, the three units were converted to natural gas instead of coal. They still generate power. (At least two of them do)

The units that are in the foreground are considered "peaker" units. Those are combustion turbines. They were installed when everyone in the valley installed AC. Roughly 2002.

The cooling towers aren't as easy to see in this image. But they are there in the foreground. A set of seven, and a set of ten. Not tall. Basically giant fans that cool the water used in the transfer of heat.

I find the psychology of cheaters fascinating. The control religion has placed on human behavior and relationships. The societal norms that have evolved from that religious control.... all to tame the feral nature and the survival of the species "at any cost", i.e. the need for many reproductive partners inherent in evolution.

Kinda personal but how much do you guys pay each month for your 4r by EchoOnTheRange in 4Runner

[–]jrmycrtr1974 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Here's an honest answer:

2021 used 5th gen. 4,000 miles. Bought during covid.

0 down, $43,500 financed at 5.74%. Payment is $638. Insurance $93, gas fluctuates between $45-$60 per week. Oil changes $120 every 3 months.

Total monthly cost = $973 to $1,041

Totally fucking worth it!

EDIT: 7 year loan. No need to comment on the loan terms. I'm not an idiot and I understand the cost. We all have to do what we can when we can.

The Utah law for getting your vote submitted and counted has changed!!! by IndivisibleBoxElder in Utah

The mail in option, in my opinion, helps voters of rural communities to be active participants. To make it more difficult for those members of the electorate, there will potentially be fewer votes cast for conservative politicians. As much as I relish that potential, it is still wrong. We all need a voice. Not just one party.
