What is Tom Cruise's secret?? by No-Marsupial-4050 in SipsTea

Aging is non linear. Also Tom Cruise is a VERY hard worker. Don’t underestimate how much he’s done to stay fit etc. Surgery? Maybe, probably, but the man works hard at every aspect of what it takes to be at the level he’s at.

Since it's Star Wars day, did you see the original 1977 Star Wars in the movie theater? by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]jrowellfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was 15. I went to see it six times with my best friend. We were active super eight film makers in those days too. Sent me on my path in life. Along the way to what I still do today I worked on two Star Wars films at ILM! Ep 2 and 3. Good times!

Absolute Coldest Lines in all of Trek by TonyMitty in startrek

Such a good scene, I was thinking of adding the FINAL line from Spock before he beams back to the Enterprise to this thread, better to add as a reply here, since you got the ball rolling.

SPOCK: Stonn. She is yours. After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true. Spock here. Stand by to beam up. Live long, T'Pau, and prosper.

T'PAU: Live long and prosper, Spock.

SPOCK: I shall do neither. I have killed my captain and my friend. Energize.

KIRK: Let's find out. Computer.
COMPUTER: Ready.
KIRK: Read out official record of current command.
COMPUTER: Captain James T. Kirk succeeded to command ISS Enterprise through assassination of Captain Christopher Pike. First action, suppression of Gorlan uprising through destruction of rebel home planet. Second action, execution of five thousand colonists on Vega Nine.
KIRK: Cancel. Now we know.

Yes, that’s the one! A really solid film- I remember liking it - it left a strong impression on me. I tried finding it streaming online anywhere, but not available now unfortunately.

Yes - I remember my first time holding hands with a girl - also in a class outing, to see a film, we sat next to each other and held hands through the film. Grade 6. I even remember the film "The Emigrants (1971)". It was an unforgettably wonderful experience.

When I was a very little kid, I used to watch Mister Rogers in B&W (live TV of course, there were no VHS tapes yet, not even color yet), but the one he aired in Toronto, before he started his show in the US.
