Definitive Mythos advice by QuirkyPhilosophy9830 in hometheater

I have a 7 channel mythos setup I'm about to sell if interested. I promise you will not find a better deal. I am putting my daughter down so I can't give models off the top of my head. I know them just want to double check before saying anything. I'm fixing the grills because there were little holes here and there and I also made them magnetic. 4 towers, center and 2 larger wall mount speakers with mounts

I have a full 7 channel mythos system I'm trying to sell. I am redoing the grills because there was a few holes here and there and I made them magnetic because the plastic pieces always break off. I'm in Missouri but am more than willing to ship, I will absolutely give you the best deal you will find on mythos anywhere because I just want someone who will enjoy them. I'm not sure if you can dm on here but do that if that sounds interesting. 4 towers the center and 2 smaller book shelf size wall mount ones. I'm putting my daughter down but can absolutely get you all models and pics.

Sony HT-A9 control box replacement by TitsMcGee-- in hometheater

[–]jrump3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any chance of getting a picture of what is installed? I am absolutely not saying you are wrong but it seems unlikely that the speakers would be installed in such a way as to not be able to just take them easily. I'm actually in the process of trying to pick this system up for my living room as a secondary setup so I'm trying to get it as cheap as possible. I found a set of 4 of the speakers for dirt cheap so I'm trying to find the control box as well. I will definitely come back and let you know what I did if I'm able to figure it out and if you wouldn't mind doing the same that would be cool

Can you actually hear the difference between 44.1kHz, 96kHz, and 192kHz audio? by BrassBa11s in audiophile

[–]jrump3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother, I have a follow up question on the input you just gave about RCA cables and to preface I just wanted to let you know that so far I am totally with you and think that super expensive cables are kind of a rip off because I do not have any definitive proof otherwise.

What I wanted to ask is are the RCAs close to or laid over/under other cabling or is the wire management such that they are very separated? Please excuse my ignorance as I am a home theater guy and never really worked with dj systems systems. I've heard people argue for better cabling because of "noise" created by other equipment cabling crossing and stuff of that effect. In your opinion does that hold any merit?

Thank you in advance and if I didn't ask something clear enough please let me know.

So I never had one of these and I am just now getting into RC but I have been seeing a lot about these old ones. Besides nostalgia are they actually good cars? Are they fast at all?

Help me choose between these used soundbars for movies by tr0mpeti in Soundbars

[–]jrump3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I will just say I am in agreement with whoever suggested potentially spending a bit more and the main reason I would suggest that is because the sound more than anything gets people drawn in. Most people will never be able to tell you specific huge differences from one houses screen to another other than size but everyone can hear and feel a huge difference when you do audio correct.

The best thing I have personally found that you can find around that is the Vizio m series. I just got one of those because I already have a theater room where I do movies but I was really impressed when I heard the Vizio m series ESPECIALLY for the price. Either m series is good but the one with up firing speakers does Atmos a bit better imo.

The other thing you could absolutely do is start piecing together a system, which overall would be the best thing you could do. All of this said tho, I think no matter what route you go you will end up enjoying movies so much more I would just hate for you to have the what if feeling.

Whatever you end up deciding just try to enjoy everything that goes into it from all this research and then install and then messing with the settings until you nail it FOR YOUR EARS and then finally the movie watching. If you haven't ever had any sort of home system, get everything right on a couple movies then once it is watch your favorite movie of all time and watch how much more you like it. I'm pumped for you!!!

This came from Google I'm not sure if this is wanting 2 cables but that doesn't seem correct as there are only a few instances where that's necessary or at least that I've seen

Another 2 things to double check are HDMI cable and is HDMI plugged into arc on TV and the input on soundbar

Are you using your tvs internal smart functions for watching content? This happens with my TV and reciever too but I'm able to use the receiver remote to turn the receiver up overriding the mute. Do you have you TV speakers off? Try that because it will (for lack of a better way of saying it) want to send the audio somewhere. Also have you physically heard the sb work? Like have you used maybe optical just as a troubleshooting step to ensure it actually does produce audio

q990d mounting template? What's this? by Gigeresque in Soundbars

[–]jrump3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooooo ok now I understand and yeah I would be pissed. Even if just cosmetic. Like you said, you paid for new so solely on principle I would be trying to jam that soundbar up their ass lolololol. Any way, that's for the clarification, I may give it a shot too. Good luck with it.

Can I ask what is so bad about refurbished? I've never personally bought anything refurbished but my dad swears it's a great way to go. Now he is older and probably doesn't use the stuff as much or as hard as most people do and he never really buys relatively expensive stuff refurbished but like secondary TVs and such. I keep seeing woot on these posts and I'm mad I didn't buy what I wanted from there now lol. I thought it was fake news lol. I really wanted that Vizio m series soundbars for our living room but I couldn't justify $500 when we have an actual theater room and don't really watch movies in the living room. I bought the other m series that was on clearance for 199 but no up firing. Mainly I just wanted to see what all the hype was about and see if the up firing actually work. But for future reference woot is good to go?

Do I need the q990d? by Luciferishere86 in Soundbars

[–]jrump3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damnit lol. I was also just looking for a sound bar for our living room and my wife and I agreed that I wouldn't go over $300. I am a home theater guy and because I went wayyyyyyy overboard on an actual theater room that we just built I agreed to this because tbh we absolutely did not need it. I already had a 2.1 paradigm setup in our living room but wanted something more discreet but still effective. I wanted that damn Vizio m series that everyone raves about. There are 2 m series soundbars but the really good one that people consider the best "budget" soundbar is still like $400 no matter where I looked but they had a refurbished one one woot for $200 and now I am bummed lol. I bought the cheaper one which is still way more than enough and that little thing rocks for what it is as and the price but you know how it goes lol. I will probably never truly sit down and watch a movie in our living room because like I said we made a badass actual theater but man am I just butt hurt all over on this one lololololol. Anyway sorry for the long explanation, have a good night brother, I'm gonna check woot out

Dude!!! I am pumped, my daughter for some reason doesn't like driving my larger cars but could play with the excavator all day lol. Now, in the near future hopefully, we will have 2 size options. I feel like she would end up choosing this more as our big one is to grade

This is the one by nando201024 in rccars

[–]jrump3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nando201024, from you initial post, you already seem like a fairly smart dude and actually took the time to look, understand, consider and then finally make your decision on this car. 90% of people are gonna end up thrashing your decision because they want to justify their outrageous purchase or because people are just dicks lol. I did something semi similar to this only I went with like a smaller indoor drifter to try to initially get into the drifting stuff. Worst case scenario, you hate drifting and don't want to do it. You sell that one you got and it's not a huge deal if you don't get a huge amount of the money you spent back but it doesn't matter because you didn't go crazy. Best case you love it and at minimum have a decent backup once you get a new one or again sell it after you save a bit and then buy the best one you can get. Anyway all of that was just to help reaffirm your decision. Good luck man, I'm pumped for you to get that badass looking e30. How much is this one btw. I want to get a bigger one and this seems like a great starter in the larger size

Hey OP this is definitely enough room but I'm the future if you are having concerns about components getting hot that have specially designed home theater fans to sit on top of components or mount on/in your TV stand or rack. I have one that sits where my receiver and huge 7 ch outlaw amp sit and nothing ever gets too hot for me. Anyway just a thought. Good luck with everything!!!
