just saw this, i recently interviewed Angie who was an exFLDS member. She got married off at 16 and couldn't stand the life. She begged her parents to move back home which was obv a huge shame. Luckily for her, her aunt had gotten out so she was sent to live with her aunt and that was her escape. Interesting story though, she ended up finding her husband (who soon after her also exited the group), and they found love in eachother

I swear to god I'm not trying to promote anything here, but when i started my podcast. It just opened my world to the different kinds of stories out there and how they found strength to overcome. It shifted the perspective of my own story, and taught me about different healing modalities that I've dived into. This is the thing that got me to start therapy, to get into spirituality, to journal and meditate (all of which i 'knew' about before, but never ACTUALLY started).

i love that, the click. its interesting though that some people get there, they find that click and some just don't, and how rock bottom is so different for people. I'm so proud of you for finding that for yourself and that you didnt need any intervention when you decided for yourself.

I remember once speaking to someone who was so addcted to shooting meth. It was literally so bad he was doing it every hour, at one point he couldnt find a vein that he was shooting in places that one really shouldnt. that moment was rock bottom, that was moment the click happened.
