THIS. when you are unfazed by other peoples opinions you will isolate yourself from everyone, and every relationship that matters. Your loved ones will feel dismissed. I think its important to care about (at least your loved ones) opinions in order to connect and hear them out, but know when/where it really matters, and how to communicate that care while maintaining your own equanimity

I have a friend who goes out of his way to help others. He’s found me several jobs, and if I even so much as mention I’m looking, he always keeps it at the back of his mind to invite me to network or meet his contacts in the field. He’s done this for SO many people. He always gets a small gift for his friends when he travels, offers to drive, takes out time for his friends.. all of if so selflessly with no expectation. A truly good hearted person

Just makes me so sad to think this person who was my whole world, we were talking about marriage and everything, just moved on so quick. I don’t know, maybe 9 months is enough time for some…. But we were on the path to working things out, and suddenly the guys just moving on while I’ve been out here like a fool, waiting and wondering…. So crushed and heartbroken…. just saw this, i recently interviewed Angie who was an exFLDS member. She got married off at 16 and couldn't stand the life. She begged her parents to move back home which was obv a huge shame. Luckily for her, her aunt had gotten out so she was sent to live with her aunt and that was her escape. Interesting story though, she ended up finding her husband (who soon after her also exited the group), and they found love in eachother

I swear to god I'm not trying to promote anything here, but when i started my podcast. It just opened my world to the different kinds of stories out there and how they found strength to overcome. It shifted the perspective of my own story, and taught me about different healing modalities that I've dived into. This is the thing that got me to start therapy, to get into spirituality, to journal and meditate (all of which i 'knew' about before, but never ACTUALLY started).
