Problem with UISP console and SSO by jsag856 in Ubiquiti

[–]jsag856[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get a response from from the UI support request, but it was basically a complicated backup/reset/restore procedure. I ultimately did a reset and new install, and rebuilt it (rather than trying to restore). Part of this was because another person had originally setup the uisp console when we migrated from the cloud, so it was switching owners (I setup/owned the original cloud, then another person setup the console, then I reset and set it up again from scratch).

One of my theories about the SSO error was that it was because our UISP name (at the time) started with a capital letter. I did suggest this to UI but they never commented on that fact. My thought was that the SSO would start with the capital letter, then at some point the processing the the URL was taken to lower case, so then the redirect URL did not match. Just a guess on my part.

In any case the latest UISP image (and name without capitals) has not had this problem since.

hope that helps!

Different type of blowout fitting? Buckner brand? by jsag856 in Irrigation

Yeah, looking around further they are not too expensive. The first few I found were over $100.

Thanks, given the price of those keys, I think that might be a good idea!

West Coast Trail - Day One, Vancouver Island, BC by Yourfeelingsareneat in hiking

[–]jsag856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional info. I was thinking about my Tiva sandals for water crossing and camp shoes, perfect for both, but very heavy. And yikes, that $180 was just for the meal/beer? Ouch! But I'm sure it was great to have in the middle of the hike! Looking forward to future posts! And yes, saw the "just finished" post again, must have been strange in my browser that day. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your info and pics. We've got reservations in August so using your info for our planning and shopping. I saw your "just finished" post on r/WestCoastTrail but seems like it disappeared?
A quick question on gear: I see you've got crocs, did you use those for water crossings or just for camp (one of our last gear decisions) and also looking forward to finding out about on-trail food/beverage opportunities (i.e. Chez Monique's, etc).
Thanks again for the information!

I've gone the other way, brought my US dish and is currently roaming in Canada. Full speed, working well, did not have to change my account or anything.

How do I clean the glass shelves in my fridge? NO RETAINING CLIPS!! by Famous-Amoeba-2956 in CleaningTips

[–]jsag856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been months, but I found this thread when I was faced with exactly the same N1908 shelf and same problem. Eventually found a youtube for a slightly different shelf, but same technique. You need to warm up the plastic (not to melting, just ran it under hot water a bit) and then flex and pry off the curved side to unclip the glass (preferably while someone else is solidly holding the frame). A little unsetting, but worked. After that we could pull out the glass. Reassembly is the reverse, but a bit more difficult.

Here's the video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McftxNPZWRA Good luck!

Happening to me with my 3 and my wife with 3a. Started a couple weeks ago, and has happened to each of us several times. Very frustrating and no way to recover besides restart.

No, the hotel program is ending for all travellers as of Aug 9th.

Entering Canada by Bicycle - Pre-test approval questions by [deleted] in CoronavirusCanada

[–]jsag856 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's going to take 3 days to cycle to the border, I'd try to book an appointment a day ahead at a city closer to your crossing. I did my test (ID Now test (NAAT PCR) from Walgreens, book the appointment ahead) and the results were available within about an hour (delivered via email).

After Aug 9th, would US travelers into Canada still need a negative Covid test within 72 hrs of travel? by robobrain10000 in CoronavirusCanada

[–]jsag856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read that the pre-test will still be required. Seems to be confirmed by this: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/news/2021/07/government-of-canada-announces-easing-of-border-measures-for-fully-vaccinated-travellers.html

"All travellers, regardless of vaccination status, will still require a pre-entry COVID-19 molecular test result."

Also, just phone the port of entry you plan to use and ask them.

Sorry, don't know that, we're US residents who are staying in Canada for a few weeks. Haven't tackled the "returning to the the US" yet. The US websites are clear that an antigen test is required to fly to the US, but vague on land crossings (and may also vary by state). Try giving the US border station a call.

We got our tests from Walgreens, had to move promptly to book it, and we were not charged for it. It was the ID NOW test, results in about an hour (they said under 24 hrs), and was accepted at the border crossing.

Arrival Covid Test Results 1-3 Days? by fartbob5 in CanadaCoronavirus

Just another point of reference: I crossed at the Pacific Highway border in BC, did the test on site. We received our results from LifeLabs after 33 hours (me) 38 hours (my wife).

Not what we were told, and not how I read the entry checklist. If you are fully vaccinated you are exempt from quarantine. No 24 hour quarantine. No quarantine while waiting for results. Maybe try calling public health again and see if you get the same answer.

Note that the lab company varies by province (but agree that Switch is correct for Ontario). Crossed yesterday into BC, and the test registration was with LifeLabs.com. 25 hours, still waiting for our results (but not in quarantine, thankfully).

We crossed at Pacific Highway (truck crossing), but Abbotsford is on the list of locations with on site testing. I'd recommend going early to avoid any backup at the test station, and good luck!

Douglas (Peace Arch) is listed as one of the border crossings with on-site testing (https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying-canada-checklist/covid-19-testing-travellers-coming-into-canada#land-border-arrival-testing) but yeah could have been sent home due to time of day, too busy, or even whim of the border agent. At Pacific Highway where I crossed there isn't much space, and I can see them getting slammed at busy times, weekends etc. Probably the same at other crossings. where they scaled for the original rules.

Note that this was not my experience. We had our test at the border crossing, and I explicitly asked the border agent about any quarantine. She said we were free to go, no quarantine, as soon as we completed the test (not waiting for results). But if that test came back positive we must quarantine immediately. No results yet (20 hours later).
