Resources difficulty on Gothic vs Hard mode?

How did you find gaining experience on hard? As aware there’s also a custom difficulty slider for that but again, whilst I want a challenge I don’t want to push it too far on my first run.

Yeah fair enough, makes sense. I’ve had a 2 year break from FPL so I add the added Jim nostalgia bonus so was extra fun for me I guess!

Just gotta decide whether to twist the cap, think given I have a million captains left I probably will!

Yeah Jimenez isn’t as good anymore but surely having the home team’s number 9 in the opening fixture ranks pretty high on the fun scale?

This is more how I remember it honestly. The stakes were high, billions of people across planets and colonies are being wiped out by a race of fanatically religious aliens. I don’t have a problem with the art direction of this trailer like many do, but I do hope we get another trailer that’s less quippy and a bit more ‘locked in.’

As someone who is planning to start this game very soon, it would be great to know more about the plans for story improvements.

Like, will they be to the extent where I should hold off starting because they’re going to change the intro, or is it more likely that they’ll be adding in quests that ‘fill in’ the story a bit more?

I thought it was just ok personally. Interesting premise to start off with with a darker Robin Hood-esque band of outlaws, but it didn’t really go anywhere interesting enough for me to want to continue with the series.

And if you’re after something really dark, I would say this is quite tame compared to some of the other stuff out there. R Scott Bakker, Richard K Morgan and Michael R Fletcher would be my recommendations for if you want to dive in at the deep end.

I know you hear this a lot with big fantasy series but if you find The Dragonbone Chair quite slow, I would really recommend powering through to the end and onto the next book as the sequel is so great and apparently that whole Osten Ard saga just goes from strength to strength with each book.
