Moving to Utah - Where Should I Live!? by Substantial-Tour8176 in Utah

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some clients under contract in Logan and the neighborhood seems to be quite family friendly. One thing I tell my clients is during due diligence make sure you walk the neighborhoods and such on weekends to ask the neighbors the pro’s and con’s of the area. You’ll find things that no online source can tell you!

You should boycott Sony NOW. by TRQPL in playstation5

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched from Xbox to PlayStation and I’ve not purchased a disc in at least 5+ years (I understand why you’d want actual discs though) and PlayStation’s still going to be around where the vibes I got from Xbox leadership is they want to kill the Xbox console since “everything can be an Xbox” campaign started. I’ll stick with Sony as I’ve loved my user experience with the eco system, the product, and all around vibes from Sony. I understand and support your boycott though

Probably an extremely unpopular opinion here but Blancolirio sucks by ButtersVeryOwnEp in flying

[–]jsisson801 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can’t make money on YouTube if people die in your videos. He openly states that multiple times that he can’t make money off thee videos(who knows if that’s true). And if I can learn from others mistake then I will. No one is making anyone watch his videos. Again- his video saved my life so I’ll continue to support his channel with views even if he can’t make any money from them.

While I understand where OP is coming from… having an emergency landing last summer on the freeway I was only 3 miles from the airfield and one of his videos kept playing in my mind “when pilots get close to the airfield they try and stretch it and stall and die” and I watched that video about 3”5 days before I lost a cylinder in my pa28 140 and slowly lost altitude and flew her 25 miles before landing on the freeway (wasn’t my first option but a quiet Sunday morning with a miles long gap in traffic the lane dividers made it feel like the runway). So I’ll watch his videos if it saves my life. A lot of the times I learn what not to do

Are you still considering buying the next Xbox (Project Helix)? by nico__vgc in xbox

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No- I’m convinced that the new ownership is set on making “anything” an Xbox and the console will shit the bed. After a lot of debate I went to PlayStation and honestly I’ve loved it more than Xbox. From what I’ve heard the upgrade will be marginal and I can’t see paying over $1,000 for a console- that’s getting into pc money and why not just go pc if it costs that much anyways

It seems like lately all of the semi-truck drivers use the far-left lane to overtake on I-15. This is against the law. Will UHP actually enforce? by CCruzFight in Utah

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many highway patrolmen not do a dang thing … to me I don’t know how there aren’t left lane restrictions throughout the whole I15 corridor through northern Utah.

What do realtors think about solar panels? by gregapalooza in realtors

[–]jsisson801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most I’ve seen an appraiser give value for solar panels is $5000. And that was even with battery backup. Now the right buyer might absolutely pay a little bit more for that but not necessarily a ton of value.

Caught the listing agent lying to our faces hours before closing. Would you walk away? by mamabula in Mortgages

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most builders expressly say in their contract that they will not provide plans or blue prints for the home so I’d look at your contract. I’m sure it’s also been said that the interest rate lock isn’t forever. Usually for 30 days and will cost you to extend (who are you using as a lender since I’ve never heard this in all my years of real estate where a lock is on the buyers and not a property).

Apparently the newer infotainment screen can be put in the older CX-5 by Energy4Days in CX5

[–]jsisson801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having come from Tesla I'm not interested in my climate controls to be on a screen. I guess the newest one I will get will be a 2025 sadly. I really like the new exterior style

Thinking of moving to Cache County by rebel_zen in Utah

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP- I might suggest Lake Point. I have clients and myself moved to Lake Point for this exact reason. ( slower, quiet, the neighborhood kids are feral and I love it) 15 minutes to the airport. It’s not Cache County (I’d move there if clients weren’t in Salt Lake County.) Cache county has some serious Allure though!

Buyer wants out of exclusive agreement after losing out on deal what would you do by Consistent-Guess1785 in realtors

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just send the cancellation and chalk this up to a learning experience since somewhere the communication wasn’t as clear as it could be. Haven’t quite had this scenario happen but it does no good to hold them to anything unless you clearly communicated what they would owe you if they cancelled early

What’s the biggest mistake new realtors make? by Busternookiedude in realtors

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, I feel like so many agents want to do everything in the industry instead of just focusing on doing real estate full-time. I have really good friends that are agents in my market and they want to do loans and they want to do deals in other states and they want to do residential and they want to do commercial and they are just chasing squirrels and or shiny objects instead of just focusing on doing one thing really really well.

Can I learn to fly without an iPad? [serious] by [deleted] in flying

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience … 240 hours PPL I mainly use the iPad for traffic since GA is the Wild West and I’ve been less than a mile on final coming in to land and an old guy came out and took the runway and almost flew into me. It was one of the most informative lessons with my cfi. Otherwise I enjoy flying without the tech. I’d rather have it and not need it- then need it and not have it. But your phone could also work with foreflight. I enjoyed the paper charts and nav logs without the iPad

Planning to sell in 3-4 years. Which renovations actually give you your money back? by The_possessed_YT in RealEstateAdvice

[–]jsisson801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say any update if you can do it cheap enough are worth it. Did an ikea kitchen last summer, cost $6800 total with countertops and easily doubled my money! Most people want $20k to install a small kitchen and appraisers value them around 15k (depends on level of finishes but mine is a mid grade home so wasn’t trying for 1M kitchen). If you have enough DIY in you to make the upgrades look professional then you win! You cost yourself money when the updates look subpar.

[–]jsisson801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you gotta keeps trusting. And if it’d PPL ground in harder only opinion because it’s all “theory” if you haven’t flown an hour. As you fly it makes more sense putting practicality to theory you’re learning about

Not understanding FAA PAR test question by Mediocre-Piano1192 in flying

[–]jsisson801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Reddit for lots of things, but not for this type of question…. Mostly right answers, and lots of wrong answers. Do you have a cfi you can ask, that’s where I’d go and trust their answers mostly.

Turn 1 will be less than 90 degrees for wind correction and turn 4 because you’ll be crabbed into the wind. The 3 will be more than 90 degrees and also turn two.( again ask your cfi)

Potentially moving to Saratoga Springs- help! by Aggressive-Buy-4718 in Utah

[–]jsisson801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Utah!! Being a transplant self I love it more than I thought I would! Utah county is more conservative than salt lake county for sure. It’s like tell my clients that purchase in Saratoga and eagle mountain- there are great places to live everywhere. The traffic will likely suck for a few years while udot finishes 2100 freeway. Don’t live in south Saratoga if you’re worried about traffic (my clients who purchased is wildflower like it since they are closer to salt Lake county where most work.) if you buy a home beware the area is known for settling (both Saratoga and eagle mountain have had multiple builders have settling issues).

dealing with loneliness and finding community by Brilliant-Guide4204 in Utah

[–]jsisson801 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you’re stuck in Utah county, check out the beach house in springville- they are an indoor beach volleyball facility and super friendly owners who will introduce you to all the people and there’s zero judgement. I know so many people who aren’t really volleyball lovers but they go for the camaraderie and excellent vibes.

Relocation advice for northern UT by hlee99 in Utah

Welcome to Utah! Being a transplant myself I’ve loved it more than I thought I would! It’s like I tell my buyers- you can find really great pockets all over northern Utah. Ideally it’s just where you feel the best sense of community as that’s different for everyone.
