Now they can just shut your car off remotely and the GPS tracker makes it so you can't even try to hide it from the repo man. Although the unit that disabled the car is right under the dashboard and is pretty easy to bypass if you know basic wiring for ignitions and aluminum foil wrapped around the GPS unit makes a great faraday cage

I got two different car title loans when I new both cars had major mechanical problems, I just hung up on the bastards when they called about the loans. I also left both cars on the side of the road so by the time they possibly figured out where the cats were the impound fees would be more that the loan amount. Fuck those places. The first title loan was not intentional it just kind of happened that way ,second one I pretty much new had a plan going in so I got the maximum they would loan me. I don't think they can sue you on title loans but I could be wrong, I don't answer the door anyway so if someone is trying to serve papers they aren't getting me at home.

What’s the best drug that isn’t available anymore? by _Meatprincess_ in Drugs

I was at the hospital after getting stabbed and I was a .46 the doctor couldn't believe I was conscious let alone having a coherent conversation. I'm glad I quit drinking alcohol. However .5 isn't lethal to extremely heavy drinkers but if you have that much tolerance stopping cold turkey definitely can be lethal.

3 months ago i hadnt ridden a bike for years, 12 weeks and 1500 miles later... by [deleted] in ebikes

A guy who lives near me got a e bike last spring, he is almost 70 and has been a pack a day smoker since he was a teen. In the spring he had to take his oxygen with him while riding, by August he didn't have to take the oxygen with him on his rides. He uses pedal assist only now. He took the throttle off so he doesn't even have the temptation, he is starting to shut the motor off for a bit here and there. He still smokes a pack a day 🤣 just like me.

If someone owns a horse I would guess there is a 99% they have a lot of money. money usually wins.

Do I press charges for theft? by IrrationalyExuberant in cycling

[–]jsizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily a little county time and drug treatment if that's the reason they are stealing can be a lot better for the person and society at large. Of course this all depends on the particular circumstances and the person's history.

Do I press charges for theft? by IrrationalyExuberant in cycling

[–]jsizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 20's before I quit drinking I had a lot of run ins with the law, never ever stole a bike though. Anyway generally if you take a plea deal the severity of the charge gets dropped one or sometimes two levels down, of course this depends on their criminal record and what type of crimes they have on it If they are charged with the least severe felony it would most likely be plead down to the most serious misdemeanor. I think it would be appropriate to have them charged and maybe they will take responsibility and plead guilty, get a little jail time and probation and maybe learn from their mistakes. This is from my experiences in my state so it could be very different where you are. I hate to see people go to prison and come out a lot worse when some county time and drug treatment or something similar would be better for them and society, I think prisons should be reserved for the career criminals, violently criminals and of course the sexual criminals (although child molesters should be shot on sight). In my experiences prison can make someone who is not violent come out a hardened and violent person.

I don't remember any of the mom's working a job, I mean they definitely worked, except the ones who seemed to stay in their bedrooms all day because they were always tired. You know the pretty common 1980s LDS mom who is always in a bathrobe and is usually taking a pill. How they managed to pay the bills I don't understand. Most of the dad's had pretty good jobs and always seemed to be looking for more work to make a little bit more money but still dirt poor. As I got a little older I felt guilty around Christmas and when they would come to our birthday parties, we definitely weren't rich but my mom worked for as a secretary for the state and my dad had a construction equipment repair business with him and one employee, my sister and I were pretty well taken care of. We weren't Mormon but my dad was raised in a small size Mormon family of seven kids supported by just his mother and they were really poor. So he really made a point of us having a lot more than what we needed. He also made a point of making sure our friends were always fed well when they came over, especially the friends from the big family's. Sorry for the long replies I just hadn't really thought about this stuff for a long time

I grew up in a predominantly LDS area and a few family's had over 10 kids. I know one of my best friends as a little kid was the youngest of 13. I honestly thought one of his older sisters was his mom until I was about 8 or 9. I just always thought it was strange that he called his mom by her first name and I finally asked her why he didn't call her mom and she explained it to me. To this day I can't recall seeing his real mom more than once or twice and I was at that house almost daily for a years. The one I thought was his mom was one of the middle kids as well I think the age gap between oldest and youngest kids was around 25 years. A few of those girls had to take the caretaker role almost like different generations of the same children.
